I'm wondering if it's possible to mod the BIOS of my Toshiba A100-819 (PSAARE) so I can enable AHCI. The chipset supports it, but Toshiba never bothered to add this option thus it's still running IDE mode. Not the best thing when you want to install a SSD.

Interested in this as well, plus how do I search the forums?

    Hi all,

Just joined since I'm looking for the same thing: OCZ SSD died in my Toshiba and their tech support says step 1 is to enable AHCI... which isn't an option in Phoenix BIOS 6 in my A105.

Since there weren't replies here yet, I figured I'd search around some and used the upper right search box with terms like "Phoenix AHCI" and "Toshiba Phoenix AHCI" and the search returned absolutely no hits. Which I find very weird, since the reason I'm here is because of a post with exactly those terms - even in the title! Is the search broken? Thanks!
