The latest version of iTunes that will install on Win 7 is more than 1 year old now, all newer versions require win10 or 11. I want to update my iphone from ios 12 to ios 15 but my old version version of itunes is telling me to get the latest version of the software in order to perform the update. How could i trick the latest itunes installer into thinking that it is actually installing on a win 10 machine and not on win 7? Sorry if this is not the right forum for asking but if i asked on apple forums I'd probably get the "update to win 11, win 7 is not safe anymore" answer
I have extracted latest installer and checked iTunes.exe for depencies under Windows 7 x64 SP1+. There are missing imports from various files. Sorry it's impossible to run latest iTunes under Windows 7 host. Why you just don't use Software update directly from device settings?
thanks a lot for taking the time to do this check ^_^ I guess my only solution is to ask a friend if i can update from their pc, but also i wont be able to manage my device from my pc after that aswell, like file transfering and local backup On why i dont wanna run the update directly from the iphone OTA mode is that on Itunes the update is 5+gb while OTA is 3+gb, so i prefer to use the Itunes method to have everything working perfectly, especially when jumping 3 major ios versions like in my case
