Hi there gang, been getting neck deep in trying to mod the bios on my motherboard it is a MSI MS-7046 Medion effort.

    It reports this in Everest-

-Motherboard Manufacturer and Model: MSI - MS-7046 (Medion OEM)
    -os revision: W7046M7 V2.0C 111804 17:36:00
-Bios Type: Phoenix - AwardBIOS v6.00PG

Anyway, grabbed the bios from the board as it just dosn't exist on the net and tried opening it up with Phoenix bios editor but it came up with an error.

So then thought it was maybe not a Phoenix bios proper but just a Award bios, so edited it with cbrom like so -

cbrom bios.bin /isa iasus.bin to add the ISA module iasus.bin from ASUS

This still didn't show any slic2 in Everest, so tried the other method -

    1. cbrom bios.bin /Slpkey bbpubkey.bin
    2. cbrom bios.bin /Slpmarker bbmarker.bin

    Still no slic in Everest.

I've edited the bios with modbin6 to open up features that were greyed out so that works.

Where am I going wrong, any help would be appreciated.:)

    Hi bloke,
I think i can help you i have found the following BIOS on Medion support site:
    W7046M7 V2.1C 072905 14:38:26 MEDIONPC

I can add the SLIC for you, although you manually have to enable the grayed out options later on, interested?

Thanks for the time you spent looking for the bios, I found that one a little while back and tried it to see if it was good for this mobo, all looked good until I realised that it had disabled the fans and the usb/keyboard, panic'd and flashed back to backup:eek: phew.

Found a alternative tut online and found the acpislic.bin file I was using was corrupt.

Downloaded a fresh one and whoalla, all up and running now. I feel pretty cool now.

But thanks for your effort, much appreciated.:D
