I have a quick question, are you supposed to use this when the 30 days trial ends? Like I mean after it ends are you supposed to install it? Cuz I'm wondering if you're supposed to install when you still have the 30 days trial still. Plz answer back. Thanks.
I think if we can do variable insert per language then little at a time additions would be ok. Seems XP'rs are here to stay If your referring to IR5 use at any time preferably after SP1 install
Technically, if we use the code as chnix was working on, both tasks would be created (at least for the languages we get "fixes" for). Since both tasks would be created, there should be no problem with the uninstall. The question is - If MS's fix is to replace the problem file, should we even attempt to fix it another way? The problem is that unless we get feedback from non-English users (they would not only need to say there is a problem but would also need to give a translated fix), the "final" version may never come. Is it just me or do you find it odd that Microsoft suggests replacing the file with one from a localized Server 2003, but they don't give you an easy way to get the file?
I dont' know what to do except give msg if tasks don't install then we know it's non-english so that way if language non-english that works it will still work so that will narrow it down Code: Your language version of XP is not compatable with IORRT Please seek assistance in Trilogy 2.0 development thread Also I was considering putting an "Grace reset" option to basically restore/rearm If for some reason a person found themselves in notifications they could just use that option instead of having to open up task scheduler and run task
Hi all, First let me thank timesurfer and all others who contributed to IR5 script. And now let me describe a problem that I am having: I have a dual boot setup (Win XP SP3 and Win 7 Ultimate 64bit). My initial boot drive is C: on which I have WinXP. Win7 is located on a separate drive. I installed IR5 in Win 7 and the system rebooted to a recovery console. I went to command prompt shell and typed "c:IR5" which resulted in "file not found" error. Upon searching for what the problem is, I found that IR5.bat was located on my Win7 drive which now had a designation as G: I went to G: and typed "IR5" and received a "ERROR: The system was unable to find the specified registry key or value" message. I have to CTRL-C out of the batch script to get to the prompt. My system is now in perpetual recovery console bootup mode. How can I get back to normal? And how can I successfully install IR5 again? I await any help that you can provide. Thanks.
Hi guys, I am new to here and I am asking how to use the Trilogy 2.0 application in a correct steps. Firstly, I will install new Win7 Ultimate with SP 1 (64Bits) to my sandy bridge laptop. Secondly, proceed to windows updates from Microsoft since I have a fresh 30 days trial. Thirdly, I will install the Trilogy 2.0 (IR5) to my laptop to get 180 days trial, right? Fourthly, reboot the laptop and check the status of the Windows. One question: What is the trial ended? I just have to uninstall and reinstall the Trilogy 2.0 to get more days, right? Thanks in advance for the answer.
@timesurfer @tomah I finalized the code ( i think...) and i'm doing many tests. it has error messages how you (@timesurfer) asked. Soon i will post the code and what i changed/added. Please wait..
You got it mostly right. During your install of IR5, you will need to reboot into the Recovery Environment and need to type "C:IR5" (without quotes). When installed properly, IR5 will setup a scheduled task which will rearm your trial every 30 days until you run out of rearms. At that point, you must do your uninstall and reinstall to reset your rearms. Within IR5 menu, choose E to see the full instructions. Hope that helps.
Sorry, let me be a little more specific. During the IR5 install it will boot into the "Recovery Environment" itself. You should not need to do anything yourself besides waiting for it and then selecting command prompt. Feel free to start the program up, choose A at the main menu and then choose E at the IR5 menu to read the full instructions. You can do this without anything installing.
Thanks again for your useful information, tomah. So once again, I just run the IR5 program in Windows 7 and the program will auto boot into the "Recovery Environment" itself and I just do nothing and just wait it to be activated, right. Just type some commands when command prompt pop up right. Thanks.
Try putting the IR5.bat in your c drive and just press f8 at boot then enter c:ir5 Should work Any other solutions you used? If you open disk management what drive is marked active C or G? @tomah, chinx we'll work on IR5 after IORRT issue is settled with what to do I have been busy with work and "hash" checks
Listen and read more carefully. IR5 as in first post instructions clearly say it doesn't activate Read directions literally dude
Here are the IR5 instructions (what you get if you choose A at the Trilogy menu and choose E at the IR5 menu): 1. Click Install then your computer will automatically restart and in a moment you will be asked to enter your keyboard language and login information 2. Select command prompt and type "C:IR5" (without quotes) then press enter 3. Ignore any non-genuine messages as windows restarts * Click rearm if license status says "notification" * Reinstall IR5 when you have 0 rearms and 1 days left
Chinx has something in the works so let's wait to see what you think of it and see where to go from there. Good luck, checking your hash.
