I feel the same about this. I have not used WHS (either version) and do not even have a copy to mess with. Just wondering if we should be just keeping the code as is, but putting in a little check for WHS 2011 to fix the problem, or doing a complete re-write of how we detect the Windows version. Keep in mind that if IR5 (or whatever it will be called) works for Windows 8, we may be running into a similar issue by using our current check of EditionID.
Well the latest build of win 8 I think can do slmgr /rearm to continue usage. It is also ultimate as the first builds were enterprise and volume activated via KMS which is why IR5 is so cool as to support anything with trial and default keys that can be installed after WPA key is deleted upon restarting into windows. So question is MS going to leave WPA and will it delete. They left alone IR4/5 for whole year so maybe they don't care but regardless I wouldn't want to hacktivate win 8. This is why MD helped me cause he doesn't support modifiers and IR4/5 doesn't modify any files just deletes WPA key that resets/unloads reset rearms. Maybe we will be able to do this inside windows or with just reboot like we wanted but anyway we will see. Also we have the anti-nag code to consider as that makes IR5 good with no nags I think when we see what we have to work with then we'll know what to do later buddy
Yeahh Hey there German window 7 enterprise x86 Acronis Trueimage Home 2011 Install worked prefect, today first rearm too IR5 Version 2.0 AWESOME
How so? WHS v1 is based on Windows Server 2003 and can not be re-armed like Vista+ systems, so i really do not understand how this would interfere with re-arming WHS 2011...what am I missing? To my knowledge there never was any 'ServerHomePremium' in the Vista/Windows Server 2008 area Anyway, I just check both keys, the 4BWDV keys only seems to be accepted by sp0 pidgenx.dll, while the YQXDR key seems only to be accepted by the sp1 pidgenx.dll My guess is that the superseded keys in the sp1 'product.ini' are just for server products that never were released during the sp0 area
Using Acronis should not be a problem unless you are using one of the partition related utilities (e.g.: Secure Zone). If you are just using the disk imaging part of Acronis, there should be no problems.
Well that has kinda been our only consistent problem so I had to laugh it worked. Also some characters around here want me to put warnings about boot mgt software when it happens only like every couple thousand IR5 installs that they need troubleshooting ...lol
Let's see if Timesurfer wants to change the key for ServerHomePremium and see if anybody has any issues with it. I wish I could suggest one way or the other, but I have no idea which way you should go as I have not worked with pidgenx.dll. If nobody responds, perhaps you just want to try it out and see what happens.
As Trilogy contains 3 utilities, you need to be a little more specific as to what you are trying to do, what specific errors you are getting, and when you are getting them. Maybe after knowing these facts, somebody will be able to help you out.
You are right, my key can be found in the Win7 sp1 product.ini. But I got it from installing WHS 2011 once more elsewhere and reading the virgin key used there. Because IR5 wasn't working. Now it's working with the substitute key in the ServerHomePremium line. And I installed from "en_server_install_disc_windows_home_server_2011_x64_dvd_658487.iso" . Maybe someone can explain this.
