PRoblems rearming Timesurfer, would appreciate your guidance/help.....I have installed Windows 7 Ultimate (Clean install) onto a virtual machine (VHD) which I boot from occasionally (once every 45 - 90 days?) to test out software before I install it on my normal windows environment. Note that this is the VHD native boot and not a Virtual Windows environment in a Windows setting. I had used IR4 previously to rearm it once and had some problems before it worked......i.e. I had to do the install/rearm option about 2 - 3 times before it worked. Today, I booted off the VHD and was advised that my Windows needed to be activated.....it has probably been 90 days since I last booted up the VHD. I chose the 'Activate Later' option when the screen was presented after windows login and then tried to rearm it with IR4....no luck. I uninstalled and reinstalled IR4....no luck. I uninstalled and then installed Trilogy....still no luck. The system goes through the expected sequence when the rearming process is initiated i.e. auto reboot to recovery mode where I exit to the DOS prompt which is X:\Windows\System32....the IR4 as well as the IR5 batch files are located on the D:\ drive (not the C:\ drive). At the X:\Windows\System32 prompt, I issue the command of D:IR5 (used to be D:IR4 for the previous version) at which point I see a number of error messages and then the machine reboots. Logging into Windows reveals the fact that the 'rearm' did not take place. Would appreciate any help/guidance you can share on how I troubleshoot/resolve this issue. Thanks.
I was hoping for a little clarification about how the program works for Windows Server 2008 R2 Server Standard. On the main page the description states that this program runs automatically and silently. However, inside the program under instructions, it says that I need to reinstall when there are 0 rearms and 1 day remaining. Which is it? Do I have to rearm every 30 days and reinstall every 6 months or am I good to go?
It's both ...lol Because this solution is based off rearms it works for 180 days at a time. During that duration this program runs automatically and silently
after 180 days? I want to install this interesting tool for a friend (he who understand little about PC). This only works for 180 days? So after 180 days I have to go to him to rearm? :O There is no way to do it just once?
with IR5 can we leave the PC permanently on for say 150 days, without Re-boot or hybernate for 150 days solid and then will the re-arm tasks still work just wandering, cos something like windows home server, that wouldent really be shut down or re-booted too much over long periods
Is the grace period of WHS also 30 days? Anyway it depends, theoretically you are right, but practically when you simply enable automatic updates to be downloaded/installed a WHS system will be automatically restarted somewhere in the 150 days timespan. (I never experienced a 150 day timespan MS released none system critical updates )
Rearms happen every 30 days and silently inside windows. After 180 days with SP1 IR5 must be reinstalled Yes rearms will happen auto so yes you can leave comp on In fact IR5 works best if you leave comp on so rearm task will always run
Hi timesurfer, I'm new in this thread and with IR5. Currently I've IR4 installed on a Win7 Ultimate x64 and I need to install a Windows Update (KB2492386) that asks me to install the Genuine Validation in order to be downloaded. If I remove IR4 and install IR5, should I allow to install the Genuine Authentication in order to succeed with that KB#? Thanks for your help, P.
Well, IR4/IR5 keeps Windows 7 in infinite trial.. & in trial, all MS softwares are treated as genuine!!!
Has anyone gotten this to work on WHS 2011? When I followed the instructions, upon reboot, I am told this copy isn't genuine and causes the Dashboard to crash. I was reading backa few pages and noticed the list of activation keys. If I take the key that's in the product.ini file and replace the one in Trilogy 2.1 (I assume the old one), will it work? I ask because I have everything set up the way I want and have a few more days left to activate.
