What do you mean by both? I can't say 100% but it looks like the ServerHomePremium key that we currently have in Trilogy was never used. At least that is what FreeStyler beleives. I have never used any version of WHS so I cannot agree or disagree with this. Anybody else out there find that WHS works with the current Trilogy/IR5 key? If so please say so. Anyways, if the current key was never used, then by changing the key to YQXDR... we have an easy "fix" for something that probably wasn't really broken in the first place.
It doesn't work with the current coded key. Gets an error on install and uninstall and furthermore prevents the Dashboard from opening. It shows the splash screen, but never opens. I used the slmgr ipk (YQXDR) key to fix the dashboard and have a Product ID listed again in the System screen (right click on My Computer and go to properties). When I attempted to install IR5 the first time it wouldn't list a Product ID in this screen. I'm assuming this is what made the Dashboard crash, but I don't know.
Since we know that the new key (YQXDR) works and we're not sure about the existing key (4BWDV), maybe we should change the key and wait for the people that have issues with the old (YQXDR) key to speak up, if there are any. Based on the few responses we already have, we know the YQXDR key works fine. At least it does for the current WHS 2011 RTM.
I booted with my Win7 install DVD and in the System Recovery Options box, it showed both my Win7 HDD install and my Win7 VHD install, but for the VHD install, it showed Partition Size 0 and Location Unknown. I chose to start the Command Prompt but it would only show the files and folders on my Win7 HDD install. It would not show files and folders on the VHD. Any ideas? I wanted to use the manual rearm method by running delwpa.bat. At first, the VHD file was located on my second hard drive and I thought that might be why Win PE couldn't locate it. So I move the VHD to the root directory of C, but that didn't help. Still couldn't locate it.
I'll get on that soon but does EditionID read version? One of you guys should just replace key and test for TTG That way we know for sure if IR5 works before 2.3 launch
The EditionID for WHS 2011 RTM comes up as ServerHomePremium so, if we change the current key (4BWDV) to the one troels mentioned (YQXDR), we should be OK (unless there is a version of WHS that uses the 4BWDV key - which we have yet to hear about).
Yes, ACS5T works on CS5.5. Even downloaded updates without a hitch. I did add about 50 additional entries to my hosts files; ones I had gleaned from various sources by googling one of the standard hosts entries in " " quotes. I figured the more 'phone home' sites I blocked the better. Besides, as as Golda Meir said when Henry Kissinger accused her of being paranoid during the 73 Sinai talks: "Even paranoids have enemies". But otherwise ACS5T and your method works fine on the trial version of Master Collection CS5.5. I downloaded the 'generator' for those key elements needed from the torrent on the MDL post about the leaked trial. Fortunately the download was broken up so I didn't need to download the trial from the torrent, I felt the latest version on Adobe's site would be safer. Be glad to post the full list of hosts entries if you like. Will post if I have any problems. Adobe still hasn't made the trial available to the public; they claimed a mid-May time-frame and I signed up to be notified. Mid-May is upon us, so....
That was what I was wondering with my post a few pages back, however, I just rearmed my copy for another 30 days. My copy is the MSDN one that was bundled with the Trilogy software about a month back. I think mine is the YQXDR one.
