Unfortunately, since it is only your computer that is having the problem, it will be very hard for us to troubleshoot this. You mentioned that the %windir%\TrilogyAdminTest folder was created but doesn't get deleted. Have you tried deleting it manually and then try running Trilogy again (as admin). I'm just wondering if for some reason, the folder exists before you ran Trilogy and when Trilogy is run, it tries to create it again. Since it's already there, it will return a non-zero errorlevel and possibly cause this issue. Good luck and let us know how it goes.
THIS is the problem. I did NOTHING on that PC. I simply tried to start IR5 to check how many rearms was remaining. It's the first thing I tried, without success. I made a script to create and delete a test folder in the Windows folder If I execute it without admin privileges I get the "Access denied" error (as it should be) If I execute it with admin privileges everything works fine. I tried to remove the errorlevel check from the original script and i was able to install/uninstall/read status of IR5, so the only thing doesn't work is the errorlevel check. I can continue using IR5 without the "Run as Admin" check, but I am very intrigued by this problem; I prefer solve the issues instead find workarounds. Is there a way (command) to manually set the errorlevel to zero at the begin of the IR5 script? And which is the command (if exist) to read the errorlevel to make some test? Thanks in advance guys for your fantastic work in this forum
How to I reset the # of rearms to 5? I think I uninstall and reinstall just like the first time? What happens if it goes past the 30 days and I forget to rearm? What happens if I don't rearm before I run out of rearms and days? I'm sorry if these questions have been answered, but there are 157 pages in this thread lol....
1. You install/re-install IR5. If IR5 does not reset or boot into RE correctly then use MPC which installs IR5 100% (like directions say...lol) 2. IR5 is automatic, meaning it rearms automatically if your comp is on at time IR5 task will run which instructions tell exactly to install IR5 at time user is most likely to be on (like directions say...lol) 3. If you go past 30 days just rearm manually (like directions say...lol) 4. If rearm does not happen you get black desktop and nag to activate (rearm solves this and reapply desktop background)
The script was installed on 15 july and everything was working fine (no errorlevel check problems) I tried the v3.4, v3.5, v3.6, v3.7, v3.8 Trilogy versions, same result (errorlevel check fails) I don't understand what could be happened As Timesurfer and you said, probably something is messed up in the system. However the IR5 task continues to operate well and for me is enough. Meanwhile, I continue to investigate :crystal:
Repair install will solve this problem. Uninstall IR5 first Bro you can check the same admin check code in all version since it started and they are exactly the same I wanted the first console admin check ever for Trilogy and tomah helped me and there you have it So you can quit wasting time and do repair install and in hour have system repaired and reinstall IR5 Before your repair install maybe Code: sfc /scannow then reboot
Problems rearming Hello, can you help? I have been successfully using Trilogy 2.1 to use my Windows 7 enterprise for some time. But now i have problems. I can uninstall and install, but it wont give me any more rearms. I tried the Trilogy 3.8 but it does the same thing. I tried running MPC.bat , but it just briefly flashes something and doesnt do anything. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance Kar-Chee
Glad to hear it all worked out for you. Actually, this has been mentioned many times within this thread (yes, I know that it is getting huge). This was the main reason that Timesurfer created the MPC manual install. The reason you require D, is that when booting into RE, the drive letters get changed. What it gets changed to depends on you system, so it may not be the same for everyone. In your case, it's changed to D. That being said, I'm surprised that MPC did not work. Can you review the MPC installation instructions and verify that you followed them correctly? I'm sure Timesurfer would be interested in finding and fixing any issues that may happen when the instructions are followed correctly.
I spell my name with lower case t not upper case T hence timesurfer not Timesurfer unless you are starting a sentence MPC worked he just did not pay attention to directions to what RE local drive said hence D:MPC would have worked If said user we're to go into RE and look at recovery console I'm positive that local drive would say D:\ Perhaps he did not place MPC.bat file in system drive Be-knowing to tomah and other TTG members the only other reason MPC was designed is in case partition security programs like acronis or truecrypt keep users from auto booting into RE to run C:IR5 cmd Otherwise I'm certain that IR5 works 97% of the time or greater and if not MPC covers the other 3% success instillation factor
Timesurfer is right i didnt read the instructions of how to run MPC. I blindly followed the instructions in the IR5 section where it said "if rearms do not reset use MPC" . I thouht "using" MPC means just double clicking the MPC.bat. Mistake on my side. Timesurfer you seem very defensive. I am in no way blaming you or your program for my problems. I was just trying to solve my problem and post a solution that worked for me and maybe help you make your program more "dumb proof" in next version.
As I define the difference between defensive and comprehensively supporting "for free" Trilogy, listen closely The program has been written as good as possible. That includes content. I have been developing it for over an year now and even have a team call Team Trilogy to help with systems I am not running currently and with code I am not experienced with. Really what needs improvement is your appreciation of MDL's developers in the fact that I simply and directly explained your difficulty with following instructions. It is indeed you who are being defensive and I don't appreaciate giving freely of my time to then receiving a comment that somehow I've errod when indeed I spoke clearly and to the point hence the best "cure" for dummy proofing usage of the simplest program in the world for all 3 programs trilogy supports is to read the directions and slow down so you do not error again. Really there are many thousands that use Trilogy so your help is not really help but a reflection of going past all the "dummy proof" instructions I have carefully laid out for easy usage for all of the worlds Trilogy users. When used correctly all Trilogy utilities are 100% successful And really this is all I said Respect
If i have offended you in any way, im sorry. I really do asppreciate MDL developers and im grateful for any help given as i know the value of ones time. Kar-Chee
Again I am having no problems I gave you the best communication and support I know how And I will continue to as long as I can take it...lol On another note it is good that you just changed drive letter as MPC is only necessary if RE changes drive letter because of RE bug hence in truth IR5 will work without MPC if one we're to pay attention to what the recovery console states local drive to be hence if IR5.bat does not run then changing drive letter like you did is an appropriate action But given that some complain about not auto booting into RE and with your situation about drive letter change it was imperative that I do the MPC to solve support/troubleshooting difficulty. I believe with my development of MPC in general installation problems have been solved hence two birds with one stone hence MPC Given that if user is using acronis, truecrypt softwares then MPC usage is mandatory since IR5 will not auto boot into RE But users don't usually know if there systems will auto boot until they end up back into windows so really IR5 user can just mad click F8 to go into RE via repair computer option
Wonderful Thanx alot!!!!!! I was racking my brain, on how I'll need to reformat my laptop, reinstall my 200GB files, borrow my friends external HDD, download Windows again, use DAZ loader....anyway thanx you're a complete genius!
