Is it possible to update the bios and then delete the stuff of the flash drive to reuse it? And also do you have a link to the original?
I'll try the loader first and then if that fails, then I'll do the bios. And I ment the original mobo bios. EDIT: Hold on do I have to modify my own bios or can I just download it from the forums?
Just go download your mobo bios from the Acer website. If one is already modded you can use that one.
If you pay someone $300 to change your motherboard, you are a moron. The T180 motherboard itself costs $40 or less on eBay, and takes 10 minutes to swap out. And you don't have to send it to a tech to reprogram the BIOS from a failed flash, the recovery process for a failed flash is documented all over the place and is very easy to do.
So true, you should know how to make a bootable USB, it not a matter of just copying the files over to the USB. You need to use WinRAR to compress the files first and 'Extract files' to the USB drive. If you are unsure, it better to use the loaders which is much safer.
Yeah the specs look like the t180's Edit: Aight I just modded my bios and activatated W7 thanks to everyone who helped and posted useful information on this thread.
If I were you, I would keep trying to get a bootdisk to work so you can do it from DOS... No avail on a boot CD? (Do you even have a CD drive on that thing?) Flashing in Windows will only increase the risk of bricking your BIOS, thus your Motherboard, thus your PC...
Well I took a somewhat risky move (being impatient) and downloaded the T180 Bios flash from Acer. In the package was a Winflash. I subbed the modified flash from this thread and flashed in Windows. It took and I activated with Daz 7 Loader Bios Mod selection. Activated! I believe its is always best to flash with a boot disk but I went a little crazy. I was willing to put up with the consequences. Thanks for the help!
