    Important for XP: What media was used to install? If it's OEM media, only OEM keys will work. Only special VL media ("XP Corporate Edition") will take VL keys and not require activation.

    The best way for OEM media is inserting DMI info into the VM's .vbox file while Virtualbox is closed (including the service).

    - Example HP, these lines must be added to the ExtraData section:
    Code:
          <ExtraDataItem name="VBoxInternal/Devices/pcbios/0/Config/DmiBIOSVendor" value="Hewlett-Packard"/>
          <ExtraDataItem name="VBoxInternal/Devices/pcbios/0/Config/DmiBIOSVersion" value="Hewlett-Packard"/>
          <ExtraDataItem name="VBoxInternal/Devices/pcbios/0/Config/DmiSystemProduct" value="Hewlett-Packard"/>
          <ExtraDataItem name="VBoxInternal/Devices/pcbios/0/Config/DmiSystemVendor" value="Hewlett-Packard"/>

    - Download the HP-COMPAQ[CD4E1902].zip archive from the OEMBIOS link in the first post of this topic: https://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/the-windows-xp-oembios-archive.9795/
    - Download the OEMBIOS Changer tool from https://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/vlk-and-oembios-changer.6077/ and install to the target system.

    - Put the 4 OEMBIOS files into the "Uncompressed Oembios Folder" of your installed tool.

    - Run the tool, use "5 - OEMBIOS changer dialog", then "3-- Just change the oembios files. (already decompressed)". Let it do its magic.

    - Reboot.

    That should be it.

    If that won't work for you, there is still the then-popular AntiWPA3 tool, which the OEMBIOS Changer also conveniently includes, ready for usage.

    XP Media Center is only available for 32bit. I don't think there ever was 64bit ver.

    The media you are using is oem already - ether you don't have the SLP in bios or you have the wrong product key > are you sure you are using the OEM product key for media centre ....

    You need to mach the oem product key with the manufacturer whether it's Dell, HP, Acer, and so on.
    there is a way to check for this via i386 folder oem.cat and check crc from your media .. also check setupp.ini to see if the last digit's show's OEM .If it show's 000 at the end you have retail.
    If that is the case you need to create the media ... check the forum for info for that.

    If you can Find davidxx tool this should show you if and what manufacturer SLP is from your bios for your motherboard.
    If on the other hand you are using a Virtual machine setup ether vmware or orical vbox - then you need to apply the setting's for bios on the VM . look in the fotum's for info on that .

    hope that help's
    Kindest regards

    Are you pulling my leg ... naughty ... lol

    you are using keygen for VL product key's - will never work for OEM.

    Beowulf >Check your g-mail<

    Don't matter you will have to find the OEM tool - cannot mail you the file unless I mask the file.

    I did actually link to the topics containing the needed tools and files. All downloads work, I tested them.

    Well i tried opening the link and there is no download link. As i went through my Ext Disc i found those tools, which i downloaded few years back.
    But i am having problem downloading this file.
    HP-COMPAQ[CD4E1902].zip archive from the OEMBIOS link.
    Could u download and re-upload for me, i want o re-create and oem disc and see for myself, if the process really works.
    That is something which i havn't done myself.
    Thank you for ur generous time.

    Yes those are Genuine oem keys, i found it in this very site as i write this.
    Yes i am aware of the process and i had done that in the past too. But those were all OEM machine and not branded.
    Thank u for asking that.

    Ok, I realized that the problem is not with the sound in the system.
    Sound problem in the "Dancer".
    - "No Sound detected", even when music was being played.

    KB888111 "partially" included in SP3 but not completely
    Hdaudbus.sys from KB888111 included in SP3, yes
    Hdaudio.sys from KB888111 included in SP3, no

    files from KB888111 are only used when using onboard HD audio (HDA) devices and not the older AC97 (non-HD) audio devices

    @Beowulf
    Sorry not been around for a while been lurking.
    Have you looked on your media disk and looked at the setupp.ini file in your i386 dir and checked if it has OEM at the end.
    if it has 000 then it's retail or if 350,750,950 or some other number it's vol.
    Also check your oembios.cat, oembios.sig,oembios.dat, oembios.bin - they must be all from the same oembios set for the manufacturer.
    the product key you use is oem key.

    according to your screenshot above after using wat you are 640 - not OEM.

    Beowulf I will help you if you have the patience and time... as all on here are here, there an everywhere.
    If you have a test environment like a VM then I could show you how to build the media in a safe environment.
    Personally I would opt for vmware rather than oracle just my personal preference. oracle is best for java and DB's.

    there is another alternative bear metal xen or exsi but that might be way to in depth. or a linux distro live cd.

    If you still need help on this matter then hit me back on this post.

    just re-read your post you changed it from original - if you using oracle then you need the pass through for bios otherwise it will not activate. I don't use oracle product's anymore so on the bios pass through you will have to look for the workaround .

    as for using the program's like wat remover and such. I would not recommend.< do you trust them.
    I know they work. what else do the program's do.

    If you have no sound check your oracle box to see if you have it turned on if you have then check the drivers's on the OS in oracle box to see if they have the drivers for oracle. or install the tool's for oracle box.

    Kindest regard's
