i have one Windows 7 Pro trying the update using the powershell nothing really happens. i've checked on the C:\$Windows.~BT i see the folder has downloaded the files and are there already. size 2.83GB how can i force it to install ?
How long have you been waiting since the folder is created ? other way is to upgrade directly from dvd/usb iso.
i've created a USB bootable however when i tried to update using the usb it asks for the key. Note , i did not boot but run the setup directly.
i've upgraded so far 5 computers online, none with usb. yes its weird i don't see skip button. the iso i am using is the dutch one multiple edition Pro/Home ISO 64 bit
I think the problem is due to the fact you already have the C:\$Windows.~BT folder so the machine is waiting to upgrade via the net and you're trying an installation with the USB key
Update fails with error code 80240020, then you might try: Locate the registry key: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WindowsUpdate\OSUpgrade] It should exist, but if not, create it. Create a new DWORD (32-bit) Value with Name = "AllowOSUpgrade" (without the quotes), and set the Value = 0x00000001.
Tried to update one Machine with Win 8.1 Pro to Win 10 Pro using the ISO. however when i run the setup after a while it shows up error, the key doesn't match the installed key. any suggestions how escape this ? do i have to create a .cfg file on the Windows Directory ?
