What a waste of space - I'd like to see the people who did this run Bitlocker. And - 100 Mb on disks that can be 2000 times the size - risk things for less than 0.1 % gain - c'mon !! Running Bitlocker was the main reason M$ changed this from Vista - you have to have an unencrypted boot partition or no boot !
You have two partitions of a say, 250 GB hard disk: i) the 100 MB reserved partition and ii) the Primary Drive of 249.9 GB What you can do to delete the 100 MB reserved partition is as follows: 1) Delete the Primary Drive so it becomes i) 100 MB reserved partition ii) 249.9 GB Unallocated Space 2) Select the 100 MB reserved partition 3) Select "Extend" and enter a partition size for your System Drive, say 100GB This will create two partitions: i) 100 GB as your System Drive without the 100 MB ii) the remaining 150 GB as a primary partition. By the way, the above method is before you have installed your W7
Now this thread has become silly - if you want to not have the 100 MB System partition BEFORE you install then you simply create the partition layout you want either before or during install. I thought this started out as a way to remove it AFTER install - and that is silly too.
