if you can live without this driver,in this case you can try this workaround: boot into safe mode, open device manager then uninstall the graphics driver you are using this should revert to the Microsoft Basic Display Driver. hence your os will be able to run normally
Yes, I tryed that method also I booted in Safe Mode and deleted that driver so Windows revert back to basic display driver but is a problem:The laptop won't boot in normal mode....if I want to do this only I can do is to enable diagnostic startup.....
I have WCP installed in my Dell laptop and no solution until now for video driver, just basic from ms....
I have been very unsuccessful with this. I have HP Laptop with an Intel Chipset Family 4. Could someone attempt at making a video tutorial?
Until a solution will be available for WCP on my laptop or another Windows will be leaked..I reverted back to Windoes 7...
I downloaded today a new version of intel hd display adapter driver from Microsoft...is about wddm 2.1 and number version DriverVer=02/22/2012,9.17.10.2661 but is still NOT WORKING! The display comes black after windows logo start.Solution is just to boot in safe-mode and revert back to basic display adapter from built-in WCP. I done with this and I have aero or this kind of stuff but cannot set resolution at 1366/768 wich is native for my laptop screen...BTW it seems that Intel will launch the official driver for WDP in early May.
@bif2000 I have Intel i-3 2310m CPU and I believe that hardware id is in that list because I had no problem with instalation...BTW I found a new monitor driver on the Dell website, driver that wasn't posted here before or that I don't paid atention for it before....I will try to boot with this new configuration later and I will post here the result.
No results even i had installed dell s2230 mx monitor driver....there is nothing to do only run WCP with basic display adapter...BTW when i try to run WCP with MS WDDM last display driver I see a yellow triangle on monitor properties in device manager.
Out of curiosity, when you go to Device Manager and look at the properties of the display adapter, Details tab, Hardware Ids, what's the first line (you can copy and paste from there)?
@bjf2000 Widnows consumer preview is not in my computer anymore...I have W7 and enough memory inside of my machine to test any operating sistem in virtual environment
Yes,the drivers are there but WCP still does not want to run normally on my laptop...i tryed all the metods and drivers...no results, only way to have WCP is to use MS basic display adapter with low resolution.
thanks!!! it worked for me. i use windows 8 pro. intel has no plans to release drivers for intel g41 express chipset so i looked for workarounds.
To those who use g41 chipset and can't install the latest windows 7 graphics driver into windows 8 and shows "The computer does not meet the minimum blablabla...." Found out this steps will help you install it with no errors: 1. Run the driver installer for intel graphics chipset you downloaded for the intel website. 2. You'll be greeted with the error stated above. BUT DON'T CLOSE IT! 3. Open task manager then right click on the setup application (Intel(R) Graphics Acc.....) and click open file location. 4. You'll see the extracted files. All you have to do is to copy them into a safe place. (because those files will be gone when you close the setup application) 5. Once copied to any directory, open the graphics folder and look for igdlh.inf. 6. Open it via notepad and look for this part: [IntelGfx.NTx86.5.1] ; no install on XP [IntelGfx.NTx86.6.2] ; no install on Win8 [IntelGfx.NTx86.6.0] %iCNTG0% = iCNT0, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2A42 %iCNTG1% = iCNT1, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2A43 %iEGLG0% = iEGL0, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2E02 %iEGLG1% = iEGL1, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2E03 %iEGLQ4G0% = iEGL0, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2E12 %iEGLQ4G1% = iEGL1, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2E13 %iEGLG4G0% = iEGL0, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2E22 %iEGLG4G1% = iEGL1, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2E23 %iEGLGVG0% = iEGL0, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2E32 %iEGLGVG1% = iEGL1, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2E33 %iEGLGB0% = iEGL0, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2E42 %iEGLGB1% = iEGL1, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2E43 %iEGLGBU0% = iEGL0, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2E92 %iEGLGBU1% = iEGL1, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2E93 %iILKGM0% = iILKM0, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0046 %iILKG0% = iILKD0, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0042 7. Delete [IntelGfx.NTx86.6.2] ; no install on Win8 8. Rename [IntelGfx.NTx86.6.0] to [IntelGfx.NTx86.6.2] 9. Save. 10. Run setup.exe from the base directory and your good to go. Registered just to share you this. XD
I've done that before. You get an error about the driver being unsigned. You have to disable signed drivers for that to work. Or you can just install the latest Intel driver that wasn't broken for Windows 8. I'd link both the 32 and 64-bit versions, but this is one of those websites that uses blocking in lieu of cued moderation As I'm not going to make 18 useless posts just for the privilege, I'll just tell you that they are the 10/19/2010 drivers, at least, for my chipset. For other chipsets, it's probably a similar date.
Yes, but those are the ones that will not install on Windows 8, as I indicated above. The .INF file was deliberately altered so that it will not install on Windows 6.2, which means Windows 8. Like I said, the ones dated 19 Oct 2010 are the latest that will work on Windows 8, unless you disable signed driver check at boot time and then follow Romar31's instructions. (Unlike in Windows 7 or earlier, you cannot disable the signed driver check permanently. Or, at least, the way to do it has changed.)
