Yesterday megaupload and mdl tomorrow? Time to stand up and fight back... we do .. HADOPI, U.S. Department of Justice, the FBI, the music the RIAA lobbyists, the MPAA's film industry association, the U.S. Copyright Office and some record companies like Warner Music, Universal Music and BMI. http://anonops.blogspot.com https://twitter.com/#!/TheJusticeDept
FBI shuts down Megaupload.com, Anonymous shut down FBI HACKTAVIST group Anonymous have compiled and published a dossier containing personal information about employees of the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) and US Democratic party leaders and their families. The hacking group released a document on file-sharing site Pastebin.com listing the websites they planned to attack along with the names of US Democratic Party leaders and MPAA employees and their families. The details included property values, work and home phone numbers and addresses as well as the names, ages and schools of the member's children. But Anonymous hit back shutting down the websites of the US Department of Justice and Universal Music Group. “The government takes down #Megaupload? 15 minutes later #Anonymous takes down government & record label sites,” they wrote on Twitter. "We Anonymous are launching our largest attack ever on government and music industry sites. Lulz. The FBI didn't think they would get away with this did they? They should have expected us," they wrote on website Pastebin. New Zealand’s police website police.govt.nz has also allegedly been targeted by the group after as Dotcom, Batato and two others were arrested in Auckland by New Zealand authorities carrying out warrants on behalf of the US for pirate material. "Megaupload was taken down w/out SOPA being law. Now imagine what will happen if it passes. The Internet as we know it will end. FIGHT BACK," wrote @YourAnonNews on Twitter in a reference to the ongoing battle in Congress over the controversial Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA). The proposed legislation would crack down on the online sharing of pirated copies of music, movies and other material. Investigators said there was no connection between arrests in their two-year investigation of Megaupload.com and the political firestorm that erupted this week over the pending vote on SOPA, according to The Wall Street Journal. Megaupload.com is a content hosting site that allows users to upload content for others to then download. But according to the indictment, "for more than five years the conspiracy has operated websites that unlawfully reproduce and distribute infringing copies of copyrighted works, including movies - often before their theatrical release - music, television programs, electronic books, and business and entertainment software on a massive scale." The indictment charges the suspects with racketeering conspiracy, conspiring to commit copyright infringement, conspiring to commit money laundering and two counts of criminal copyright infringement. If convicted, each individual faces up to 55 years in prison, the Justice Department said. Source: http://www.news.com.au/technology/f...cy/story-e6frfro0-1226249114650#ixzz1k0EeoIwC
@ paiva it is with some hesitation that i react here.... just look at the chatbox. we are not a political forum, thank god, but such issues tend to get political almost automatically.. i am not a us citizen, so i am completely innocent of voting the powers that be over there into power. but the way that they abuse their power will have repercussions on everyone using the www... one may wonder why they did this. i think it is the age-old story of the music/film industry thinking they are losing money because of downloads. they are not, of course, people download many things they would not dream of downloading if had to pay for them.. but those guys have got the politcal pull to get things like sopa, or this megaupload thing started. now reacting by taking down the fbi site is a drastic measure, that i cannot really approve of. it is as bad to put the fbi on black because you disapprove of their activities as it is to put megaupload on black for the same reason. imho. yet some reaction to all this 1984 activity against the www as a whole is now a very necessary evil. i think a logical answer might be, that we hit them where it hurts the most. in their fat wallets! i for one will refrain from buying anything that they or their minions get royalties for from now on.... regards, nodnar
Megaupload has been changed the all website layout to work with an possible HTML5 before down I had a lifetime MEGAUPLOAD account by years, ~US$200 by acc in 2010
@ nodnar, I also think it's wrong to shoot down other sites such as FBI, But everything is wrong. Thousands of people stop by all, now they have lost all their rights. The Megaupload site was a server, as many others. Iran must end with everyone then. Stupid thing. @ Josh, Sorry friend ... But surely that was not you who have been affected.
