Its like Asus itself prepares & provides the bios, with SLIC 2.1. Moreover, its permanent modding i.e SLIC remains after future bios updates.
This sounds good to me....I feel the need to test this out on my machine... @ boscru6469 The Phoenix tool is very easy to use. Give it a whirl. I will download the latest BIOS for that board of your mates and run it myself. ( Stay Tuned )
thanks part of what makes me curious modded bios with newmodule method will pass security verification but modded bios with manually modified a module via phoenixtool will not pass security verification What makes that pass verification need to sign module or is there checksum control
tnx & Tito Thanks for the help. The only problem I had was my friend had an older BIOS so he wanted to update his BIOS with the Asus BIOS. He didn't notice that Asus just added an updated BIOS 1603 on 11/15/13. I did not know if it would cause a problem so we re-flashed with the Asus 1504 BIOS and then flashed with the modded BIOS. Slic shows as 2.1. Inserted the Key and Cert and Windows shows as activated. Thanks again.
tnx & Tito My friend called me today and told me windows says he only has 3 days to activate. I do not know what he did and I can't get to him for a couple of days. It is a 2 1/2 hour round trip. Do you have any suggestions before I go. Also tnx I cannot find the file you linked in post #32
Thanks to everyone for the help. I was able to walk my friend through using SLIC Toolkit. I found he had an invalid cert. I have no idea how it happened. I then talked him through Windows Loader to insert the Asus Key & Cert.. Windows now activated.
