Hi CodeRush thank you for your your tool, in which way we can hep you to test? which kind of operation do you want we do for your feedback? open, extract, reinsert and compare with the original one? Many thanks
Right now it's only open and extract, but there are many things to test: compression, offsets, some vendor-specific images and so on.
I've problem with patching Dell Vostro 3750 Bios UEFIPatch_0.3.9 says: Could someone help me? dell.com/support/home/ua/ru/uabsdt1/Drivers/DriversDetails?driverId=TRYC1
Does this tool support ECS .CAP format? I have tried extracting BIOS from .CAP file for use with chip programmer by exporting below AMI Aptio Capsule (UEFI Image > Extract as IS) , but the exported file is non working as it seems it is missing Intel ME firmware? , since the board will not boot after flashing. The board in question is an ECS H61H2-M2 V1.0 . I have tried flashing the BIOS normally and using ECS ME update tool for DOS as well as ECS online update tool for Windows. The bios that the chip contains is 4MB in size but the one that is extracted from the .CAP file is only 2.5MB (Hence why I think it is missing the Intel Management engine Firmware component).
Hello! I have a MSI Z87-g45 gaming, the current BIOS version installed is the 1.8. I'm planning to do hackintosh. I have read it is necessary to pach my bios with the last BIOS version which is 1.9 in this case. Someone can explain me how to use this tool to patch my bios. Thanks!
Hi, It depends on what method you want to use to get a hackintosh going. If your going to use Clover chances are all you need is a power-management patch. This patch works to disable the 'CFG-Lock' option that some bios have already so you may not need to patch anything if your bios supports it. You can also use a patched powermanagement driver instead of patching bios if your not that brave to mod your bios but the problem with that is with every new apple update you could go into kernel panic at your next reboot as apple overwrites that driver. Anyhow I think the author of uefitool has an app, uefipatch, that patches most bioses fwiw. Instructions are on the readme I think. Anyhow changing subject does anyone know if the A40 version of UefiTool is mature for use or is it experimental at this stage? Should I stick with 0.21.5? I noticed it has a different author? Thanks
Greetings everyone. Is it possible to read/write ME with this tool (UEFItool)? The objective is to read ME, modify, write back.
This tool is not a flash reader in any way, so the answer is no. What you need is Intel Flash Programming Tool (given ME region is not read/write protected) or hardware SPI flash programmer.
Hi, I try to replace VSS store in an HP Elitebook 840 BIOS bin with an alternate but the menu is inactive grey - Am I doing something wrong? How can I replace the VSS store using this tool? thx best regards, Martin
I think the NE version is read only. The standard non NE version of Uefitool allows write operations.
