    Oooops *blush*

    well, i got the c ertificate installed, and did the command to change the product key but i get a pop up now that says the key is invalid. I've copied and pasted it and triple checked to make sure i typed it in right. maybe i need to upgrade first?

    If you are still in Vista then that is why the key is invalid. This is for Windows 7 rtm.

    nah i'm in win7 7600.16384

    I'm going to do a fresh install with the final RTM tonight and then give this a try again.

    Out of curiosity, aren't the chances pretty good of M$ blacklisting this key?

    final = 7600.16385. I don't think the oem key work on 16384.

    There will always be another key. Blacklisting an OEM master key is useless. Once a new key is issued it will get leaked. MS is not concerned with people flashing their bios with a modded bios. Just today I told someone about this and they said that they have no idea how to do this. If you calculate the % of people using a modded bios I bet it is very low. I am an advanced pc user and it took me a while to figure out how to do this. The average user would rather pay for the OS than try and spend many hours and never figure out how to do it. Time is money. It is cheaper for many to just buy it instead of spending hours on how to do a bios mod and then never figure it out. Most people have no idea on where to look and what to do.!!!!

    Works for me.

    Flash BIOS with SLIC 2.1 (HP)
    Use HP cert from Vista

    Activated!

    You can't use this key with Ultimate "E" version !

    format and install Ultimate Retail or OEM non E !

    Considering that the "E" version probably will not even make it into the shelves in its current form anyways and since one can easily uninstall IE8 from any version of 7 (but why would you want to, it doesn't hurt having it lying around) why on earth would anyone chose to install it?

    sorry for another post, but is it possible to use the upgrade feature from Ultimate E to Ultimate? I have some data that would take a real long time to install again...
