Trying to install Office 2010 Starter English for Windows 10 Pro 64-Bit with latest Windows Updates. Tried Bernie's tool and all links in previous pages. Keeps saying: "The files required to set up Microsoft Office Starter 2010 cannot be loaded. Check your Internet connection and then try again" I've tried to install it online and offline. Nothing seems to work. Appears that Microsoft may be blocking something.
I have not used Office 2010 in many years since Office 2013 and 2016 came out. Any special reason why you don't just install Office 2016 ? For 2016 you can just use O2016RTool make sure you read through the posts there or read the readme.pdf in the .7z file if you wish to do a selective install. also remember to change the build#: Current MS-VNEXT Insider Click2Run Office 2016 Version - 16.0.6228.1010 Current MSDN / Retail Click2Run Office 2016 Version ---- 16.0.6001.1038 Current VLSC Volume MSI VL Office 2016 Version --------- 16.0.4300.1000
just realized I posted this in the wrong subsection. my apologies. I reposted in the Office Starter section. But to answer your question it is because Office 2010 Starter Edition is free and works in Windows 7, 8, and 10. Just recently I am unable to get it to install on new Windows 10 clean builds. Many of my clients just need basic Word and Excel and do not want to pay full the full version of Office or via subscription
