There is a few people asking, so am I.

How do you patch & activate Vista with a x58 motherboard.

I have Jan x64 BIE rls which automatically installs Vista Loader after installation. But it doesnt work.

Can someone provide instructions on how to remove Vista Loader and install a working patch for the X58 ?

Unfortunately the new DP family of Intel Motherboards have a protection against OEM Activation. Any attempts I have made with any DP (Especially the new gaming series and Core-I7 compatible Motherboards) has resulted in Vista not loading. I also modified both WoW5 and WoW6 and removed the execution of the patch (leaving just the grub loader) and it still has problems loading Vista.

This leads me to believe it may be a problem with the grub loader. What we need is an edit to bootmgr itself which injects a line that executes the patch program then vista.

    thanks for the tech info

been waiting for someone to explain that to me :D

now i wonder how long it will take for someone to get around this?

but its strange that not even the vista developer activation does not work either - and thats a vista patch and has nothing to do with btmngr or grub?
