UnCleaner will work only with the Windows, cleaning it... Other applications, registry data, bad stored installers not will be cleaned.
Does UnCleaner have any advantage over CCleaner, i mean i am already using CCleaner regularly to clean my system, so will i get any benefit if i switch to UnCleaner?
Cannot install version 1.4 Hello, - Win 7 x64 up to date. - .NET Framework 4.0 installed. - Computer protected by ESET Smart Security 5.0.95 with signatures up to date. - UnCleaner has never been installed on this machine. I decided to install the last version (1.4) but this didn't work; I didn't even get the first setup screen. No message, no log file, no event log. I don't know if this can help, but a file C:\Users\b\AppData\Local\Temp\{d45d67fc-bb89-40a7-bfd2-874a0d42a104}\{09be62aa-643a-465a-8976-ebb9c74c4882}.dll was created when running setup (586.752 bytes). I viewed this file with Notepad and found the string: Cannot create gentee.dll! c:\temp %s\genteert.dll launcher_get lzge_decode ERROR: The executable file does not have a bytecode! gentee_call gentee_set gentee_load gentee_deinit gentee_init Cannot load %s. The file is corrupted. It was downloaded with errors or otherwise damaged. Please download it again and make sure that you do not have viruses. The application has already run. I don't know if this string is a constant or generated by setup. With Process Explorer (SysInternals), I could see the setup starting and stopping after 1 second. After this, I tried to install version 1.3 and it worked. Then I tried to install 1.4 again, without success, even running setup as Administrator or in compatibility mode. I googled and searched this forum for similar problems, but couldn't find anything. Can you help me? Thank you. Baudouin.
I tested version 1.4 and it worked well. I run Windows XP SP3 + Frameworks Maybe ESET is finishing the process. Have you tried to disable the protection in real time and see what happens? Regards,
Msdtc This is my first post on this wonderful forum...A real treasure you have here ! Thank you for the UN Cleaner..Quite impressive ! Just a small point By deleting the msdtc.log from the msdtc folder in system32, I get an error in event viewer at startup . It seems this log has to be here otherwise other things like com+ do not work. I had to run the command : msdtc -restlog.. Please protect this log from cleaning
Hi, I've no errors with Event Viewer on my system, you can post the Windows Version and Architecture / an possible screen with it?
I use a Pentium4, Intel MB,Intel CPU 2GHz,RAM 1Gb Win XP SP3 . Whenever I use UNCleaner (not scheduled), I have these errors MS DTC log file not found. After ensuring that all Resource Managers coordinated by MS DTC have no indoubt transactions, please run msdtc -resetlog to create the log file. MS DTC Transaction Manager start failed. LogInit returned error 0x2. DTC Security Configuration values (OFF = 0 and ON = 1): Network Administration of Transactions = 0, Network Clients = 0, Inbound Distributed Transactions using Native MSDTC Protocol = 0, Outbound Distributed Transactions using Native MSDTC Protocol = 0, Transaction Internet Protocol (TIP) = 0, XA Transactions = 0 The run-time environment was unable to initialize for transactions required to support transactional components. Make sure that MS-DTC is running. (DtcGetTransactionManagerEx(): hr = 0x8004d01b) I followed the instructions, recreated the folder in System32 and used the advised command:msdtc -restlog. The only way to avoid this is to save the log to the desktop, use uncleaner then pasting the log back into place This is what I will be doing till there is a solution to this small annoyance
Same problem with deleting MSDTC.log I had this problem again & again..I still have my very serious doubts about deleting the file MSDTC.log from folder MsDtc in System32 because this causes the MSDTC error leading to COM+ not started..and corrupted Norton Ghost backups. Please reconsider sparing it
It seems to be a pretty awesome program. Thanks for sharing it with us, I'm downloading it right away.
