I have acer 5935G and its brick right now. I am trying to recover every method i found on internet but when i m turn on pc and release fn+esc key my notebook work couple second and after turn off. doesnt start to recovery. i tryed with cd usb but same.
in service manual pdf of this notebook i tryed but same.

    Code:
Steps for BIOS Recovery by Crisis Disk:
Before doing this, a Crisis Diskette should be prepared ready in hand. The Crisis Diskette could be made by
executing the Crisis Disk program in another system with Windows XP OS.
    Follow the steps below:
    1.
    Plug in the USB disk.
    2.
Launch the wincris.exe program to create a USB Crisis Disk. Click Start to initiate the process.
    3.
Select the Quick Format option to format the disk and click Start. Follow the instructions on the screen to
    create the disk.
    4.
Copy the KAYF0X64.fd BIOS file into USB flash disk root directory.
NOTE: Do not place any other *.fd file in the USB flash disk root directory.
To use the Crisis USB key, do the following:
    1.
Plug USB storage into USB port.
    2.
Press Fn + ESC button then plug in AC power.
The Power button flashes orange once.
    3.
Press Power button to initiate system CRISIS mode.
When CRISIS is complete, the system auto restarts with a workable BIOS.
    4.
Update the latest version BIOS for this machine by regular BIOS flashing process
is there anyone have any idea what can i try else?

Bricked my Toshiba e305-s1995 using this method. Insterted flashdrive with BIOS.fd file on it, did the ESC + ~ sequence, the computer read the flashdrive (light on the flashdrive blinked) and restarted a few seconds later to a blank screen.

Won't read the USB flashdrive anymore at all, but attempts to read from CD if i put BIOS.fd file on a CDRW, but still doesnt boot up - just blank screen on startup.

Tito thank you, it's not working for me... When parse file with name: FE3542FE....ROM displayed error: "IFR_PACKAGE_SIG not found! Exiting programm...", I again checked BIOS, used SLIC_ToolKit_V3.2 received
BIOS version: F.6A (this latest version)
    BIOS vendor: Insyde
    Type: AMI Bios/ACPI 2.0 (Why?)
    SLIC version: 2.1

the program PhoenixTool runs successfully, and does AMITool not work shows NOT AMI BIOS... I do not understand what I do next(((

Maybe perl script has errors... $IFR_PACKAGE_SIG = '$IFRPKG!'; replaced by $IFR_PACKAGE_SIG = '$IFRPKG'; Now script errors: Use of uninitialized value in numeric <<> at dump.pl line 222Can't use an undefined value as an ARRAY reference at dump.pl line 46

And my bios has no settings legacy support and secure boot... And if boot from a usb drive (BOOTX64.EFI) i see:
    boot0: done
    Remove disks or other media
    Press any key to restart

I HAVE hp PAVILION DV5-1160EV. I tried to make update to last bios using the winflash on windows 7 sp1. Just before finishm still on windows 7 desktop and the winflash was in progress the computer froze.
I was waiting 30 mins but nothing. I powered it off and on and only leds, not blinking, are working.
I tried methods with win-key + B Fn-key +B and all methods with USB and cd (internal and one extrenal), usb-floppy, but none helped. I don't want to buy new motherboard or laptop. Any help to save it? Isn't the fault of Hp for this problem? Can I ask free help them since is their fault?
Please send only tested solutions. Thank you.

My laptop (Acer Aspire One D257-13404) turns on, but ends with the black screen of death. It used to recognize the power cord, but now for whatever reason it does not. I do have a D255 laptop that I've been using to charge the battery.

Anyhow, I've gotten a copy of the BIOS version 104 for the laptop in the ROM (.bin) format. I've tried using wincris.exe to create the bios and I've also tried following what it says in the manual which is rename the .bin file to "BIOS HM40X64.bin". Each results in the same manner. I hold FN + Esc, computer turns on with blinking blue light, USB stick light flashes on like its about to read it, then goes away after about 1 second. The laptop then stays in that state forever, no restart, no shutdown.

Makes me think that I'm close since the USB stick lights up initially, but I'm misnaming something or not doing something correctly. Any help would be great.

D255 and D257 are known to have buggy boot block recovery issue.. u need USB SPI programmer likely.

first try memory sticks .. re seat the memory.. i worked on one that had a loose pin on solder of memory socket. i resoldered it with flux and it worked.

if u didnt really brick bios... it needs reflow of video chip. (youtube reflow BGA)

good thing is that they provide with .ROM (rename to .bin )
which is 1024kb for USB SPI programmer like EN25T80

the .wph has platform data which is not flashed to chip.
