I was getting the same error with my Dell Inspiron 6400, but have since discovered that, as long as you know your bios size, select the box next to custom, then select the proper bios size. That works for me, however for the E6400 the extracted rom file from Dell appears to be 1.6 Mb and that is not an available custom size. Perhaps David can have a look at that and add it as an available size? or perhaps Dell has a portion of the rom file compressed and the actual size is 2 Mb? If you were to get a 2Mb dump I could look at it and give you that answer...
THANKS! I've seen many utilities but this was just direct & to the point, not to forget a simple & clean ui also.... -hkb- (keith)
Can anyone confirm is this tool with backup a Phoenix Bios? I need something that will backup my laptop's bios 100% correct, with no missing information etc. I've tried this tool on my laptop, but am too scared to flash it as I'm not sure my "backup" is exactly the same as what's already on there.
The BIOS is not AMI, neither Phoenix This version seems can read the BIOS on my Toshiba laptop Portege M400. But the saved .rom file could not be recognized by either Phoenixtool or AMITool. Help please.
Hi sebus, Please help me to save the laptop. I need your backup bios file for external programmer. I had failed after reflashed my bios. Rompaq file not succeed. Thank you !
Please, what is the point of this tool. I already have both oem and modded bios files for my computer. Why would I need a tool to back up the bios?
Please, what is the point of posting here ? Not everyone has done that right?, maybe they want to backup other ppl's bios etc..
The thing is i compared bios made by this tool and bios i had and writed on my hdd as backup and they are not the same! Nothing else i wana say.
My apologies, whilst I did actually remember reading that part about chinese, it didn't regiister. I also checked it out on my other PC's and on line scanners after posting. It passsed all other checks. It seems that the only one it failed on was the one running Win7 x64. I should have checked it out elsewhere before asking.
