Never mind. I found a regedit that allowed me to bypass this and then I used the offline insider installer and am getting updates again.
The last windows update said it made some changes on windows update system. So can you check if it still works the bypass if possible
My antivirus appears to be blocking this tool... It starts the cmd window and the PowerShell GUI to select the version and type, then disappears. I tried a couple of different times. After the first fail the bat won't run anymore until I restart the PC. I went and looked in my antivirus log and found this or similar: Advanced Threat Control has blocked a process that has been detected as malicious. Process path: C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe. Threat name: ATC.SuspiciousBehavior.87A88B4B705D05D5.
News at 5: Stupid antivirus is stupid. Mail them and ask for the malicious details, else it's just fake useless scareware that most likely is incapable of actually protecting you when needed. Shame to see Bitdefender joining the scare crows (is it them? or did you just configured it too strictly = zero intelligence).
I used this on a lenovo laptop in Win10 Home, made an upgrade to Win10 Pro and now I can't login anymore. The user name I used before isn't valid anymore...
That's.. unexpected. The upgrade should have failed and get rolled back if user migration failed. You should still be able to rollback from uefi menu - advanced settings (force shutdown the laptop couple times and it should automatically launch it).
Can I update my windows 11 build with this tool to the newest one? When I upgraded to Win11 I can't update my windows 11 build
I hope I get this right. When I started the upgrade, the "installer" told me, that everything has to be cleared, because it is an unsupported way of upgrading (or something like that), probably because going from home to pro. I was ok with that. But after the Upgrade only the login screen was displayed, no was of creating any user and my old credentials didn't work either. So I installed again, this time fresh without the upgrade process, works like expected. Probably not related to this nice tool in any way.
This looks great, but I'm confused at how to select another option. When I open the file, I get the blue output and then an MCT version pops up. In the output I can see I have 5 options, I'd like to use option 4. Trying to type 4 in the main output window does nothing, but if I cancel the MCT Version window, then the main blue output window thingy says Cancelled and closes itself. Huh? Am I not supposed to be able to pick an option via the window? Edit: Ah okay, the blue output thingy should be clearer that those are the options after selecting a version. The fact the options are numbered on the output window suggest a number can be typed in to select them.
Just a side note for the dev. Each new windows update you need to reapply the bypass since the update removes it everytime. Keep up the excellent work.
Thanks. v1 and v2 are file-less tho so should survive updating unlike v3. I do have a v4 planned, coming soon.
@BAU Thank you for your program. I love that you are able to do all of this with crafty batch and script commands.
