There is a well known registry key that this .reg file probably modifies... If you modify the registry key, you may rearm for up to 360 days total...the first 3 rearms will let you gain 120 days. You can change a registry key (or reset it to zero) to gain another 120 days (3 rearms). You can do this 1 more time after, for another 3 rearms and 120 days...for a total of 360 days. After that, you MUST buy Windows 7 (and give it a legit key), reinstall, or put up with reduced functionality mode...

VBox has many problems and it is well known. Nothing new there... Some people seem to get it working just fine, while others like myself have a seemingly never-ending slew of problems with it... It is a great tool...if you can get it to work... :)

If you do not mind a mandatory re-install every 360 days, then go for it. :)

LOL, it will only be out around 2014, if they release sooner, then it means it will sucks as much as WinME and Vista sucked.

VirtualBox is not crap at all, its free and works just great... must be something your doing wrong. Just because it doesn't do everything VMware does doesn't make it crap, end of.

I've been using Windows 7 RTM in VMWare Workstation v6.5.2. They also have a Pre-Release of v7.

On the subject of Vmware and Virtualbox.

I have been using both Vmware & Virtualbox.

To me Virual Box runs Windows 7 a bit better than Vmware.

But I have to agree Virtualbox is a bit unstable. I have been noticing virtualbox will eat all of your ram. I have 8g, I usually allocate 3 to my Vista or 7 vm's, but on many occasions my system would slow and crash after a while. So just recently I kept my system resource monitor open on my Host's other screen while I ran a VM of Vista with 3g. I watched as eventually all of my 8g's was consumed..

When I shut down the vm it all came back. Seems to me Virtualbox doesn't actually use the ram settings or there is one big memory leak somewhere..

No, it is not true. It was true for Vista, but not Windows 7. The max number of times that Windows 7 will let you reset that particular registry key (that the .reg file in the piratebay torrent modifies) is 2 times... So the first 30 days + 3 rearms will yield 120 days total. Resetting the registry key 2 times will yield another 2 x 120 days for an additional 240 days. Add the initial 120 days for a total of 360 days in trial, just rearming (and resetting the reg key when you run out of rearms). After 360 days Windows 7 forces you to either buy a key, put up with Reduced Functionality Mode, or reinstall... :)

EDIT: FYI, that registry key is there so that PC stores can display PCs for customers to try, and still keep the PC functioning in trial mode for as long as is needed, until the PC is sold (like when stores sell the display models, customers can then activate the trial mode PC by inputting the retail product key found on the Microsoft product ID label on the PC case)...for Windows 7 there is a max of 360 days. This is usually for smaller vendors' that do not have SLP keys to simply offline activate all of the PCs they make...
