cant read system info ? seems DMI is corrupt... or a bad ram stick or it came with mediacenter and it wants vista DMI info not SLP1 for XP
Yes, it originally came with Media Center. Should I install Media Center to see if that helps? Still trying to find info on what "unlocking BIOS" means.
Thanks for the info! I will get the info when I get home in a bit. Will post results soon! Thanks again!
I tried opening PHL161700.EXE and I get this message: "Platform Signature Not found in the Interface. PRESS ANY KEY TO REBOOT." What should I do now? Yes, I booted off DOS, FreeDOS actually. Do I need MSDOS? And yes, I renamed the SLIC file to BIOS.WPH.
Yup, same thing. I can say that it's not the RAM since I tested them when I read your message and I did find one module to be defective. Replaced that with a good, tested module. Just for the heck of it, I'm going to make the USB bootable using MSDOS, just in case. Will report here soon!
The Windows utility worked! Thanks so much! Verified the new bios, just in case. It was a success! I will soon find a spare HDD to install Vista/Win 7 to test the SLIC out. Will let you know ASAP!
