Well maybe you should rearm office then try again to activate. Are you on 32 or 64 bit XP and what errors did you get?

It depends. If you had a different PKey installed then you should also remove the GVLK.

As for services and tasks, nope, the app does not install anything 'secretly'. You can choose to install the host locally (via a scheduled task) but the app will do so only with your consent and only after informing you in detail about what it does.

Glad if i can help .:)

Tip: If you re-arm with the app you dont have to reboot.

The re-arm routines contain code to shutdown and restart sppsvc, which has the same effect as restarting the machine.

Is this pretty much the same thing as what Wzor puts out on his site or is your better (truthfully, no ego :D ). Also what is the difference between yours and Wzors?

Firstly, thanks for developing and sharing a great tool.

I think I may have noticed a slight imperfection. I tried using it to activate both Office 2010 and Visio 2010 running on a virtual X86 Windows 7 Ultimate machine. If Office activated and Visio didn't or vice versa, the activator would want to exit thinking its job had finished. I had to prompt it to try again several times before it managed to activate them both simultaneously.

    Wzor's works on x64 :)

But seriously, i wish people (zwt) would spend more time and figure out exactly what the problem is with 0x800700D errors, i attempted to reverse zwt's work when it was first released, but i have to hold my hands up and say the crypto stuff is too advanced for me.

I think the newest version he let out a few days ago fixes most of the errors.

Truthfully, i dont know what WZOR offers, but i am willing to bet it is based on ZWTs host too, which means it is just another clone of my concept.

As for which is 'better'; i would say the one that has the most/best features. The features of LocalHost are listed in the 1st post. Most of it is 'standard' stuff, hence likely to be found in most other KMS apps too. But Fix-Me Mode is definitely unique, you wont get it with any other app. Thats all i can say as i dont know what features WZORs has.

Im sorry to hear that. Seems that Visio needs to be checked for seperately then. (I dont have Visio myself, and even Office runs only in a VM so i can test the app.)

I will see what i can do when i do the x64 conversion. If i even do it that is, because right now im rather unmotivated to keep working on things for this board. I dont want to bore you with the details now, but i will of course inform you in case i find myself forced to quit contributing here...

    Hello Phazor!

I wat testing your console app "LocalHost" and found this bug.

In first place you tell the user to ALWAYS QUIT THE APP BY THE EXIT BUTTON/SELECTION that's okay.
but always there're users that don't follow instructions, for that reason I was testing what happens if I don't follow instructions.
    Well here comes:
first open app then don't follow instructions and closed the app by clicking in the red X to close it (did not make any selection),

    findings:
When click on X to close it (did not make any selection) the app try to install Windows 7 Product key and it hangs forever and can't be close even via Task Manager. hehe waiting about 18 minutes and still hanged....

Thanks TS, this should come in handy.

Darkor; i dont know how it could start to install the Product Key, since it would have to selectively jump to exactly this subroutine in order to do that.

(Which appears somewhat unlikely since that portion is in the middle of the script.)

I do know however that the app might hang if you just force it off. Thats why i put that note.

If you accidentally try to close the window without clicking the Exit button first, and the app hangs, you can kill the process by shutting down conhost.exe in the taskmanager...

See you all next year...Phazor is off to the party now...:holiday: :band: :mauridia:
