Thanks, I did read that in the Whats New, but its been "coming" for awhile. I wasn't certain if this community knew something more, which they often do, than what was on the site. Hope everyone has a great week.
I'm getting the error: Could not get Disk Extents: [0x00000001] Incorrect function. I searched on this, and found an old thread where the version of Windows was blamed, but no other meaningful finds. The hardware is all good, I am creating the bootable flash now using Hasleo WinToUSB. Saved C:\Users\Henry\rufus.log ON EDIT: I finished the install, but I had forgotten what a PITA it is to install Windows without the little touches that Rufus gives you (skip telemetry, skip Microsoft account, etc). 2ND EDIT: Rufus 4.8 beta fixed my problem, thanks for the speedy fix.
I have a SBC (single board computer) that only supports one Compact Flash disk. I need to run Windows setup to repair the OS (Windows 2000). I bought a new CF and am prepping it using a USB adapter on a Windows 11 laptop. I have partitioned the CF into 2 partitions, one for the OS and one for the Windows setup. I want to use Rufus to burn the Windows iso to the 2nd partition. Then I'll put the CF in the SBC and boot into Windows setup and run the repair from there. However, Rufus is not letting me select the 2nd partition. How can I do this? EDIT will changing the drive from removable to fixed help? There's a tool from Lexar which lets you do that. What I want: 1st partition: OS (restored RAW image copied from original CF). 2nd partition: Windows setup (I've downloaded the iso. I just have to get it into the CF 2nd partition). Then I'll muddle around with EasyBCD to get a dual boot menu. Any and all suggestions welcome. If I can't do it with Rufus, I'll make a new post in the appropriate forum (I don't know which).
