Hello, I succesfully installed Microsoft Office 2019 x64 on Windows 7 SP1 x64 trough WOTOK MDL. However, I don't know if it's able to download and install it's updates. So is it able to be automatically updated or not? Thanks.
Microsoft Office 2019 installed with WOTOK on windows 7 will not get updates. Office 2019 is blocked to get the updates on windows lower than 10. The workaround to get updates is, install office 2016 and then install 2019 license, and since license decides the features, and installed product decides if updates will be available or not, you get office 2019 features with working updates. Use YAOCTRI for this purpose.
Uh ok. So do I have to proceed like that? 1- Unninstall Office 2019 2- Install Office 2016 Retail normally 3- Install Office 2019 Volume License trough YAOCTRI_v8.2
Scrub all office installs and set 2019 up using YAOCTRI, the tool will do the licensing for you (including the updates availability), after setting it up you can use KMS_VL_ALL for activation.
If I am in a clean Windows 7 install (no pre-existing Office), what if I use OfficeRTool to retrieve the installation files, then use YAOCTRI to set up 2019 license and install 2019?
Wow, TIL YAOCTRI and YAOCTRU! Thank you! So, to sum it up, if I want to install Office 2019 in a clean Windows 7 SP1 WHILE ALLOWING UPDATES: 1. Download Office 2019 installation files -> Use YAOCTRU or OfficeRTool 2. To install Office 2019 from the downloaded files -> Use YAOCTRI Is that correct? Thanks!
Awesome, thanks!! Gotta admit, the names of all of these tools can be very confusing for the uninitiated like me... haha (YAOCTRI, YAOCTRU, KMS-VL-ALL, KMS_VL_ALL, KMS_VL_ALL_AIO, etc.... wha???)
All right, I've been trying this but still don't get it. First, on a clean Windows 7 SP1 system, I used OfficeRTool to download the installer for Office 2019 Pro Plus on the monthly channel. Then I used YAOCTRI to install it. However, when I started Office 2019, it says I will only receive security updates since I am on Windows 7 and not on 10. Second, I tried to install Office 2016 first (after a full scrub of Office 2019 that I installed in the previous step). Now I can see Office 2016 Professional Plus in Windows 7's Programs and Features. However, I don't know how to use YAOCTRI to apply the Office 2019 license in this case. This is because YAOCTRI asks for the Office installer, so I pointed it to the Office 2019 installer I downloaded in the first step, but after that I now have both Office 2016 and 2019 on the same system. And for Office 2019, it still says I will only receive security updates since I am on Windows 7. What am I missing here? How do I use YAOCTRI to install Office 2019 on Windows 7 so that I can receive all updates? Thanks.
I just tried to install Office 2019 with OfficeRTools and got the same result as YAOCTRI -> In both cases Office 2019 states that it can only receive security updates. The one thing I haven't been able to do is: Like I said if I install Office 2016, I can't see how to apply the 2019 license to it. Maybe that's the key to getting updates beyond just security updates. How can I achieve that?
As said before, that's not depending on the install tool, it's by MSFT design. Office 2016 Retail installs fine on win 7, same for 2019 using yaoctri. ps. i noticed you posting the same stuff in multiple threads.
Thank you @Enthousiast for your patience and help! Both Office 2016 and 2019 do install fine for me, they both work. However, that's not what I was asking in the previous post. I was trying to say that I have been successful in installing 2016 and 2019 separately and in parallel. But the README for YAOCTRI and @abbodi1406's post seem to suggest installing Office 2016 first, then installing an Office 2019 license. Exact quote: These two sentences seem to tell me to install Office 2016 but use a Office 2019 license for it in order to receive Office 2019 updates. My previous post was simply asking how is this done exactly? Yes, is that a problem? I just thought posting in the YAOCTRI thread might be helpful in gathering wider feedback for this issue and better understand what the two sentences mean.
