Would it be 100% correct to say UAD and DCH are basically the same thing? Just asking because Nvidia and Intel label their universal drivers as DCH while RTK seems to stay with UAD.
Hi, Yes, it's correct : HDA = High Definition Audio HDA (@realtek) = Standard (@nvidia) = Legacy (@microsoft & @Intel) UAD = Universal Audio Driver UAD (@realtek) = DCH (@nvidia & @Intel now) = DCHU (@microsoft) = UWD (@microsoft & @Intel before) DCH/DCHU = Declarative Componentized Hardware Support Apps Universal API compliance UWD = Universal Windows Driver
Realtek call Diagnosis tool for UAD as DCHUAppDiagTool, and DCHU folder on their FTP server contains UAD.
Yes, Intel has already passed all its drivers in MSI mode by default, only NVIDIA and Realtek need to pass in MSI mode (not by default). Realtek it is necessary to do it only once, even after updating the drivers it does not disable MSI mode, on the other hand for NVIDIA it must be done with each update of drivers (they probably want to separate the product ranges via clamping at the driver level and reserve the MSI mode for Quadro).
