Hello audio gurus. Trying to figure out how to update past 8186 on an old Gigabyte B75M-D3H board (ALC887/888B). Every HDA driver attempted (a dozen of the recent options with a decent (150MB+) file size and label (FF00 or more) have the same problem. Test audio won't play and none of the Default Format options (bit rate and Hertz) can be selected (applying shows an error and reverts). Can the currently functional driver be analyzed to understand what is needed in a replacement? I see 8186 lists some MaxxAudio files under driver details. There was talk about some of the drivers now lacking "HDA.cat, HDA.inf, HDAHP880.inf, HDX.cat, HDX.inf & HDXHP880.inf files that allow installation on very old, obsolete & obscure Realtek audio chips" . One of those "with" the files (8799) didn't work, which might mean that is barking up the wrong tree. The hardware ID is HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0887&SUBSYS_1458A002&REV_1003\4&1F81EEAB&0&0201 and I have a HWiNFO report FWIW. Am I missing something obvious? Thanks in advance.
where i can find the lastest FF06 driver for windows 7? by the way how i can know if FF06 its compatible with HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0270&SUBSYS_104313DD
That 8827.1 unofficial UAD by pal1000 on github is actually 8824.1. The generic INFs no longer exist on 8825.1 and later version driver. 8824.1 and earlier only need to match the Vender & Device ID in order to install e.g. HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_1220&SUBSYS_1458355D 8825.1 and later must Vender & Device & SubVender & SubSystem ID in order to install e.g. HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_1220&SUBSYS_1458355D I have downloaded multiple OEM package and search the below file unicode in hdxrt.cat & hdxrtext.cat with winhex. Do not found the file information in the .cat file Generic INF File Name : Unicode hdxrt.inf : 680064007800720074002E0069006E006600 hdxrtsst.inf : 680064007800720074007300730074002E0069006E006600 hdx_genericext_rtk.inf : 6800640078005F00670065006E0065007200690063006500780074005F00720074006B002E0069006E006600 If you download HP release like 8825.1, inside the file you found a folder call 8825.1_HDA_UAD_Win10_RS3_RS4_RS5_19H1_X64_WHQL, but include not all the INF. I believe there is a file called 8825.1_HDA_UAD_Win10_RS3_RS4_RS5_19H1_X64_WHQL.zip in Realtek Intranet. If someone know how to get access to generic UAD (so I don't need to find a latest version of each INF by unzip many OEM packages then post on realtek-universal-audio-driver github repository), please send a private message to me.
Guys, can you please point me to latest driver for HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0662&SUBSYS_17AA3084&REV_1003 really appreciate all the help and hard work!
this can serve here? good is what I use and never had problems thanks to our member Stasio https://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/update-realtek-high-definition-audio.72236/page-40
I'm sorry for having responded late, yes it is an ASUS X451CA laptop, and it supports Maxxaudio, but I can't find the current FF06 drivers for windows 7, I checked past posts but the links are down
Well it was always impossible to fully update with Device Manager because it doesn't support extension components, in other words it can't install HDX_GenericExt_RTK.inf. As for the force update it can actually be done with Device Manager like this: - run devmgmt.msc as admn; - disable Realtek (R) Audio; - replace RTKVHD64.sys and RTAIODAT.DAT files with updated copies in %windir%\System32\drivers ; - re-enable Realtek (R) Audio.
