What you need to do is a normal manual installation. Here is a detailed explanation for all 3 GUI-based driver installation methods available on Windows: 1. setup program It's easiest to use. 2. Normal manual installation It requires to know where the whole driver package is located. So it doesn't ask you for the INF file and you don't have to know in which subfolder is located. To perform it do the following: Right click device name - Update Driver - Browse my computer for driver software - enter driver package location - check include subfolders - Next. 3. Forced installation. Just like manual installation, but instead of Next as end step do Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer - Have Disk. This is the only installation method that asks for the INF file, fortunately it's not the case here. Normal manual installation should work just fine.
i know all these. Universal_Audio_Driver_8432.zip is different case. download it and see for yourself
It looks different but actually it doesn't matter. You can simply pick Universal_Audio_Driver_8432 folder after extraction. As long as include subfolders is checked Windows will automatically parse all subfolders and INFs until the right one is found.
I've only ever installed audio drivers directly from the ASUS website for my motherboards. Should I be using these drivers provided here, on from the ASUS website? Do these drivers come bundled with the fancy control panels etc too? (I've got the MAXIMUS VII HERO which has "ROG SupremeFX" control panel. Not that I really use it anyway, as I've got a Essence STX installed too which I use instead. I've also got two other ASUS motherboards (ASUS P6X58D PREMIUM and ASUS P8Z68-V PRO/GEN3) and I've only ever installed the audio drivers off the support page too.
Stick to the ASUS web site. Most of these "generic" drivers don't have specific setup for say Creative SB X-Fi, Nahimic, etc.. They are ok for most boards without the addons... Having said that, the MSI UAD drivers above include DTS & Nahimic versions. But then again, you still have to go to the official web site to get the correct Nahimic 3 anyway...
