If you are referring to updating the VC++ packs on XP, I had the same problem, surely there are other good solutions but I solved using a tool made by @wilenty He makes various versions, I used the Basic VC++ (HC->High Compression or LC->Low Compression it's the same)
It sure is hard finding the "latest version" of @burfadel's utility. P.S. Here are the latest 2017 links: https ://aka.ms/vs/15/release/vc_redist.x86.exe https ://aka.ms/vs/15/release/vc_redist.x64.exe

I using W10 LTSC and work with many software built for windows(i stopped embed Store to LTSC about 1year ago, dont interest anymore). I really think i fault to understand meaning of Project Centennial and bla bla. I guess its simple but it still challenge my brain. So upcoming, will i get any problem when using new software,... if i dont update 11.0.61135.400???? Anyone can explain for me!!! Thanks so much.

whoops. turns out I was wrong for Vista/2008 - KB3118401 also replaces KB2999226 on Vista/Server 2008 as well as attempting to install the KB2999226 patch on Vista says the update "does not apply to the system" when KB3118401 is installed first.
