It would be nice to have an option to uninstall all Visual C++ for troubleshooting purposes. I am just trying to figure out how.
From Microsoft. Don't forget Microsoft have released new versions of programs in the past that used older runtimes than what even they provided in the download centre. It would have happened in v52, but it shouldn't have happened in v52a. Good to here v53 is working for you though .
I'm asking from where come these file versions more specifically, for example from what link you have downloaded that version ?
Hi burfadel, in this version(V53) something is not working OK: even if there is no "pending.xml" on the system, I still get at the beginning a warning "the system has pending operation" and I should reboot or cancel the installation. Version V52a do not have this issue.
So which Full Install do I want - the 2015 or the 2017? The latest package already includes Additional and Minimum for 2017, but if I install Full 2017, then 2015 will disappear and there aren't any Additional or Minimum for 2015...
The 2017 runtimes are just a later versions of the 2015 and renamed, so the 2017 runtimes completely supersede the 2015 runtimes. The actual Visual Studio runtime version is still 14.
It depends on your personal preference, but not really. Main purpose is to keep the runtimes clean, updated, and be fast and convenient. Download and run
Could you rename the resulting entries in Programs and Features? I am just a bit OCD (but only when it comes to PC) and every time have to do this or else it doesn't look right:
