server is up, but the port is closed..got it..thank u for ur explanation...this kind of detailed explanations will actually help people here to understand whats going on rather than just keep saying the server is down..it cant be offline if u can still ping it, right?

it was good while it lasted. When the next server comes up might as well prepare your laptops and desktops, so when another server rolls around you'd be one of the first

 

last time I was at work while server was up by the time I got home party finished.

 

Tough luck it seems nice to activate via KMS the last one was from Chinese university ..

might be on some other port , use port sniffer to check.

 

Hopefully a new server will pop up soon, I have one machine activated from the very first servers that popped up, but just installed pro on a new system I brought.. Might just use the Etnerprise Eval TBH.. I normally reinstall my OS every few months anyway, and surely there will be better activation methods by then?? I'm guessing the upgrade from vista/7 is not possible yet? I have a legit vista key on the side of the machine and wouldn't mind paying the $40.
