I build all of my Windows 10 X64 Pros as all the same. Windows Updates have been changing the final Windows 10 to either Enterprise or Education, and then I lose my access to KMS Activation. If I go back to try and activate the updated software for either Windows or Office I get dll errors and can't use KMS. The only way back to Windows 10 Pro is to actually use a Windows 10 Pro Product Key.

Can someone explain why the these updates are changing my "Pro" to something else?

What KMS solution did you use and please run the QT from here and post the saved report here.

Updates don't change editions, KMS can cause it, because some outdated KMS solutions insert the wrong gVLK and a license switch is the result.

I've been using KMS 2.6 Beta 1 for over 7 years without any problems. Is there an update I'm missing?

The most current one (MTK264) is not sufficient anymore (and abandoned), the old one won't be for sure.

is there a way in the registry to change the Windows 10 back to Windows 10 Pro from either Windows 10 Education or Windows 10 Enterprise without having to re-install all the previous software plus Office 2016.

Just insert (slmgr -ipk) the pro key and it will switch back to pro.

I just found a free software package online called "License Switcher" When it runs it shows you your current Windows 10 Operating system. You can select the Windows 10 system you want to return to, example Professional, and hit switch. It works and no other operating software is lost. I just switched from Windows 10 Education back to Windows 10 Professional and then ran the Toolkit for Activation 2.6.4 and it worked perfectly. I also tested the KMS VL ALL and this last works fine. If you still have the Toolkit 2.6.1 Beta, this also works fine. License Switcher has many different ways you can return or upgrade to another Windows 10 system
