    Nope, official methods only support upgrading. For your case, it would be better to go for system imaging.

    Okay then. I already have a recovery image of 8.1 Core, so I'll restore to that when I'm done with Pro.

    I have Windows 7 Ultimate installed on my computer with GPT partition.
    To perform activation using MTK, i need to downgrade to Window 7 Enterprise.
    When I run updown8, Do I need to select Windows Enterprise during the "select edition :" prompt ?
    My Installation media can be mounted at Windows ? Will all my files will be wiped out ?
    Sorry for this questions since, after the select edition prompt window, it just asks to save and perform installation. Kinda worried about it.

    Cannot downgrade from 8.1 Ent to Pro :( - have tried several pro iso's all giving me this:
    "This upgrade path is not supported. Please close Setup and re-launch from the root of the media or go back and pick a different installation choice. "

    But the idea is to keep all settings, drivers & apps without reinstall.

    Then you have to change the "Reg Entries" to read properly.then see Im sure Ent will not Downgraade unless the Reg Entries are correct

    Not sure if this is the CORRECT RegEdit.
    Im not hme and this is all I have on my Laptop/

    ======================================
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion]

    change EditionID to new version
    change ProductName to new version
    slmgr.vbs -ipk (new key for new version)
    ==============================
    REBOOT and upgrade with Proper Media.

    force Reboot and remove Media at 42% - since that is all that is needed to RESET to Pro or Core

    Hi thanks for making this great tool.

    Currently I am using Windows 8 Pro WMC with KMS PICO.

    Since I cant upgrade to windows 8.1 using the Windows store. Is there any option I can downgrade using this tool so I am able to update to windows 8.1.

    Thanks

    @abhishekcal

    Yes you can. I would suggest you to upgrade to 8.1 Pro & then upgrade manually to ProWMC.

    I just attempted to convert my 8.1 enterprise x64 to 8.1 pro N VL x64 and after clicking upgrade received an error message that it was not an allowed upgrade path. I was sure to follow the instructions in the readme.txt.

    My current install: SHA1: ae792b2ef982dac7391224b624eab8d6340d78ab
    "Upgrade" ISO: SHA1: 169B23AC9F222426741F260607E090F327C03021

    I anticipated this would work after I found post 98 of this thread. Any suggestions for what I am doing incorrectly?

    @bcn17

    N editions aren't supported by default. Why don't you install regular Pro SKU?

    I have a Win 8 (9200) Enterprise machine that I never bothered to install 8.1 on.
    I also have a legit 8 Pro key.

    So far i have tried:

    Set the edition to Pro
    Load 'en_windows_8.1_with_update_x64_dvd_6051480' and run sources\setup.exe
    Gives error 'upgrade path not supported'

    Have also tried setting the edition to core.

    Do I need to have the same OS level iso? IE: Win8 not 8.1?
