I just downgraded from Pro WMC to Pro. I tried using this but it missed the EditionID and ProductName from Wow6432Node so I had to set those manually to Professional and Windows 8 Pro respectively (I think you've fixed it now). Then I ran the setup from the Windows 8 DVD and went through the whole process and it failed. Then I came across a post by NiFu on Eightforums saying to run setup.exe from the sources folder. That brought up an Windows 8 installation that looked alot like the one seen in Windows 7. I chose Upgrade and went through everything. Everything worked and I re-activated using a KMS server.

;) Just some advice if anyone else's downgrade fails for no apparent reason.

    Obviously..

After using this app, you need to do an 'upgrade' installation by the installation media.

After using this tool, you have to use the installation media to upgrade/downgrade.

Use a fresh MSDN iso, not some modified one.

If I use this method to downgrade WMC to Pro, will I lose office 2013 activation in the process?

I just tested this, Office 2013 activation stays after the "upgrade" procedure of Windows setup.

Do you have Office 2013 retail activated or VL?? I have seen that VL installation needs reactivation.
