a) Wouldn't know, I use a Pirated KMS Server to activate b) As far as I know there is no legit method provided by Microsoft to Obtain WMC on Enterprise, and not even any underground/workarounds from the community. c) As Tito's said there is no downgrade option, but Tito's program handles that issue pretty well!
I guess I'm happy that its done and legit. Major thanks to Tito's program. From a user perspective though... can I suggest some usability ideas? 1) Display the current version of the OS on the install screen 2) Have an 'apply' rather than 'ok' button on the drop down box. 3) Have a little instruction screen at the top RE-explaining what needs to be done in point form 4) After clicking 'apply' perhaps prompt the user for the location of the sources/setup.exe file to begin the next step and again, explain that this needs to complete or the changes will not take place. Also state that all data is preserved and that will take about as long as a complete reinstall of Windows 8 takes. Also state that the user needs to be sure they have a WORKING key for the version they wish to downgrade to, and that the program does NOT bypass any key requirements. If you had all that in there, I think there would be much less posting on this site for support! (My 2cents)
Successfully downgrade from 8pro WMC to W 8 pro using v1.3 Didn't work with en_windows_8_x64_dvd_915440.iso but was able to with en-gb_windows_8_x64_dvd_915412.iso So I think you must try it with same language iso as previously installed.
ok i'm a bit lost here...if i currently have windows 8 enterprise eval installed, can i upgrade to a non eval version?
Ok, I've tried this several times now, but even after rebooting the "windows 8 pro with media center build 9200" watermark is still there. Trying to run the setup tells me it's the wrong language etc etc. I've checked the registry, and it seems to be right... Got any tips to get this working? Win 8 enterprise modified to Pro w MC, now trying to go back instead of reinstalling. Cheers!
@Tito would you mind removing the updown8 download links?. This needs a bit more research and I don't have time to test all of these up and downgrade scenarios. Some m$ employee thinks this might not work as intended and basically frankenbuild your "upgraded" os.
Is it so?? As far as in my tests, it is perfect. Anyway, I closed this thread until your green signal. @All Thread closed due to development purpose.
