Hello all, I'm fairly sure my question has been posted already many times, since it's not something unusual but I couldn't find any topic about it so I apologize in advance for the repost.

I'm running right now a base win7 ultimate 64bit (rtm version Build 7600) since 2009. I used the "7loader by orbit30 and hazar 32bit 64 bit 2009 ver 1.4" to make it genuine and everything still works flawlessly since then. Now I need to upgrade to SP1 and I'd like to avoid a format. I've downloaded the official sp1 from microsoft (the file is "windows6.1-KB976932-X64.exe") and I have a few questions:

Should I somehow remove the loader I used before starting? (not sure I know how to do that exactly, my guess is the "uninstall 7loader" button I see if I run the loader again)

Am I supposed to use the windows6.1-KB976932-X64.exe I've downloaded from microsoft to upgrade to sp1?

Does it contain the update KB971033 that I'm supposed to avoid?

Is my OS still going to be "genuine" after the installation?

If not, do I make it genuine again simply by running the 2.2.2 loader from Daz?

Thanks a lot for the help :)

The service pack doesn't contain the WAT update (KB971033).

The activation by using those old loaders most likely will be undone by installing the WAT update (kb971033).

When those old loaders were really "removeWAT" you could run DAZ' WATFIX to repair the damage they've done (but it isn't 100% sure it will).

When removed/undone all changes the old loaders did on your system, DAZ Loader would activate just fine (with or without the WAT update (kb971033) installed).

Maybe you can better upgrade using a MSDN copy of the latest Win 7 SP1 release iso, it should give the option to keep all old files/software/settings.

    Thanks both for the answers!
Are you saying the new daz loader has no problem with the kb971033 update that we old loader users fear so much?
Can I run any windows update with it?
Maybe I should remove my loader, apply the daz one and THEN upgrade to sp1?

Even DAZ once stated it wouldn't do anything to undo activation because DAZ loader doesn't run on windows but before windows starts and lets windows think it's an official OEM machine.

    after watfix run sfc /scannow
then if you want u can slmgr.vbs /rearm
reboot and install daz loader. but if you have bios slic 2.1 original or modded it never installs a loader MBR
    and actually activates offline OEM
via cmd right click run as admin
slmgr.vbs /ipk generic oem key here (hint its in the .txt next to daz loader)
slmgr.vbs /ilc c:\certificateofOEM that matches slic 2.1 eg hp dell etc.

this comes in handy for EFI GPT win 7 installs that daz loader cant use

KB971033 has no effect on Daz loader anymore and in some cases KB971033 is required. There is no harm from any update on a Dazifed system. Pre-Act systems using other activation *using this next word very loosely* techniques are all hit and miss at best.

You should have a backup image (Aomei, Paragon, etc.) handy in case things don't go as planned.
