Yes, the 10240 image let me select Pro and it installed Pro just fine but the activation status is still "Windows is not activated." "Activation failed because this device doesn't have a valid digital entitlement or product key. Error code: 0x803F7001 I do the upgrades with internet disconnected then connect once Win Pro is up and running and I'm at the desktop. I don't know what I'm missing here? The Win 8.1 Pro is KMS activated and I leave it running while connected to the internet, do a few reboots, etc and it stays activated before I start the Win10 upgrade. Should I be doing any Windows Updates before I start the upgrade process?
You need to be online for the servers to be able to save the HWID. I am running a test now, but all my VM installs get a hwid for pro by default, because we can do this for over 3 three years now, all my hardware have all 15 possible HWID's established by now Could you please run the QT from here and post the saved report txt in code tags?
Yes, I'm imaging the Win10 iso to usb via Rufus, connecting it to the laptop then opening it and running setup.exe to do the upgrade. I've tried both 1507 and 1511 with same results. Yeah, I have the LAN driver on another USB drive and a cable sitting here so it's quicker for me to install it rather than the wifi, typing passphrase, etc. I'm also barely in range where I'm sitting so doing everything via the ethernet port.
To be clear: Install 8.1 Pro KMS activated Install (w)lan drivers Put 10240 or 10586 iso with pid.txt (3v66t) onboard on the desktop Mount the iso by just doubleclicking it or "open with explorer" Run setup.exe from the root of the mounted iso Keep the system online during the upgrade (just to be sure) You also can do this: Install 7 SP1 Activate by using DAZ loader Install the (w)lan drivers Take the 17134.1 iso and extract the gatherosstate.exe from the iso (sources folder) to the desktop. Run gatherosstate.exe and it will put a genuineticket, xml on the desktop, save it to the root of an usb drive Clean install windows 17134.xxx with a pid.txt (3v66t) in sources (to autoselect pro) or the given ei.cfg (to be able to manually select Pro) When the install is finished run this command in an elevated cmd: Code: clipup -v -o -altto x:\ x being the root of the usb drive where you saved the genuineticket.xml Next run this command in an elevated cmd: Code: slmgr -ato and now check the activation status (maybe reboot first).
Yes, this exact process. I've tried keeping the system online and offline and the only difference is when I do the upgrade offline windows says to connect to the internet to check activation. I cannot install Win 7 SP1 like I've done a million times in the past with other systems because no matter which drivers I slipstream in to the image, the 8th gen intel cpu, having no USB2 ports, no DVD drive, etc prevents me from installing Win7 at all which is my biggest issue.
Why do you mention that you did an online and an offline upgrade? For upgrade it's best to keep the install online.
Because I have been attempting this for over a week now and have literally attempted over 100 times and I'm going crazy I've tired different ISO's, keys, activation methods, xml files, USB drives, ports, standing on my left foot during a full moon, etc and cannot activate Pro for anything.
You did something wrong, you got the generic 3v66t key, you should have got the key i showed, the generic MAK should be there.
off subject but quick reply HP Laptop good enough but bad move, with my eyes can hardly even see the function button numbers even with my glasses on.
