    Hey
I got a Lenovo G550. It came preinstalled with Vista Home Premium.

Since it's eligible for the free Windows 7 upgrade I was thinking I can upgrade using the RTM ISO. Then use the Lenovo OEM SLP key for Windows 7 for the upgrade.

    Is this possible?

    thanks

IF it's eligible for Windows 7 upgrade using OEM/OEMCOA key
than microsoft will give you a new upgrade OEM/OEMCOA key

if your vista is activated by the OEM-SLP activation, and you are eligible for Windows 7 upgrade, than there is probably a bios update that will update slic table informatiom to v2.1.

you can't upgrade using only the new OEM-SLP key, you need also SLIC v2.1
    (not 2.0).
