Hi I currently use a legit registered Home Premium 32 bits and wish to replace it with a Home Premium 64 bits. There is an "express upgrade" icon, what does it it involve ? this requests a serial to get the upgrade: can I use any work around for this ? thks in advance
Nope this will not upgrade the architecture of the installed OS (eg: X32 vs x64) and only is to upgrade to other SKU editions, for example -> Windows 7 Home Premium to Windows 7 Ultimate
To change archetecture (32 bit to 64 bit) you must do a clean install. You can use your existing product key.
thanks to both members for the early reply, I need a precision: as my rig is "home made" with a purchased OEM (Home premium 32 bits) will the Home premium 64 bits serial key be valid on a clean install ? I suspect "crosoft will require at least a telephone validation which should the be rejected as the key is already in use.
