I have a intel Intel D915GAV socket LGA775. Can I put a Duo or quad core in it? I want to get one of them new fancy fast processors for this board. I am running at 2.8 With hyper treading. Is this good? just curious how to make this Visa box show higher score.

You can use only Pentium 4 & Celeron D CPUs with a 915 chipset, no Pentium D or Core2 Duo CPU's. Unless you do heavy duty gaming or video editing then 2.8 is plenty of cpu anyway. If its a Celeron, save your money and upgrade to a compatible P4 with the most cache, add more ram, and maybe a bigger drive.

p965 / p35 boards are cheap. grab one and a c2d/c2q and be rolling. you've already got the ddr2 ram. if you want more, it's cheap. you got a clean upgrade path. e2xxx, e7200, q6600 are your best bets.

Well she lived up till 1/25/2010. Got 2 new asus boards, one of which I am waiting for some ddr-2. Hopefully these will give me as much enjoyment my intel did. I had a 3.40 Single core w/ hyper treading and 2gb of ddr. So it lasted along time, and vista mod was strong!
