I specially edited the cmd to have a complete command output and it was easier to see the output responses to commands. There are no errors, but nevertheless the file is not fully patched.
1. when you edit the script it is at your own risk 2. there were no errors shown in the cmd window output If there were errors, please post them here in code tags. And for your upgradepath i believe i already said to use the simple editionid change.
pardon my ignorance @Enthousiast but what is the difference between this and the Upgrade and Fix Kit For context Im just wanting to go from 25H2-26H1 (Pro) ideally without losing my files and whatnot. thank you so much!
The boot & upgrade fix kit circumvents the Win 11 system requirements, the upgradematrix enables unofficial upgrade paths, so all options should be enabled to keep files and apps and such. 25H2 > 26H1 doesn't allow to keep all files and apps? WIll check asap. It is officially released on MVS, so it is not insider preview. No this is smart advise Nobody should be advised to run dev channel builds... best is to stay on 25H2 till 26H2 gets released in sept./oct. 2026.
I have tried this on Build 28080.1737 due to being unable to switch from Save Nothing to KEEP all files and settings. Can't change it. So this tool does not help with my issue.. Will this tool help on 29553.1000? I get no USB ports and my keyboard is USB so I can't login . Also my mouse is the same way.. TIA Bill
The USB port stuff is not related, it has to do with the xhci settings on your mobo. You are running dev channel test builds, run normal retaicl channel builds if you don't want to be surprised by every change.
Hello Enthousiast, great to see the tool is still available. Recently I stumbled upon an issue with an in-place repair install. The installer wouldn't do the repair install because of a language mismatch. The installed SKU was es-MX language and I used a es-ES iso of the same SKU. Can your tool help to overcome this? If not, what would be the correct procedure to change es-MX to es-ES without having to do a complete reinstall? I have tried all available solutions like installing language packs and setting default language settings in the registry, all with no result. Cheers.

I don't think that is related to the upgradematrix.xml but there should be a possibility to perform a (temp) locale change to enable the full inplace upgrade options.
I am a great admirer of MDL and Enthousiast. When I stumbled on this project, I decided to give it a go on a freshly downloaded Win11_25H2_English_x64_v2.iso and applied the fix successfully converting it to Win11_25H2_English_x64_v2_FIXED_Upgrade_Matrix_2026_04_29.iso. After opening it in File explorer and running it, it threw an error message : "This PC doesn't currently meet Windows 11 system requirements. Here is why : You can't install Windows on a USB flash drive using Setup." What went wrong and how to proceed?
Used this goodness a couple of days ago to go from W11 Enterprise latest version to W11 LTSC IoT. Worked a treat after using another of @Enthousiast's excellent tools, Win10UI, to bring the .iso up to current LCU etc. Ecstatic that my MS bulls**t level reduces whilst I look for the most appropriate escape hatch, if it's at all possible. I'm not sure what you are asking. All I want to do is upgrade windows 10 loT enterprise with whatever windows 11 will work and save my app and files. My laptop does not qualify for 11 though so I tried wintousb and your tool to save apps and files but they don't work. I get errors that windows can't determine if I have enough space or it won't let me save app and files. *edit current build is: 22h2 19045 6456 IoT 10 enterprise

Are you saying i'm SOL? I have stated the build i'm currently using and what I want to do is to update it to 11 and I tried to with the same version description but in "11" (IoT enterprise) form. I have stated what I have tried but somehow there is a miscommunication. I could not get them to work as an upgrade unless I choose to lose my apps and files. The other error is windows could not determine if I had enough space. I didn't learn about computer software like you have. All I have discovered was to create Firefox themes, back in the day, for the Mozilla Browser. I don't understand much beyond that but i'm willing to learn **edit - I just scrolled up and realized i'm repeating myself. I don't know what else I can say or how I can say it differently. This is all the information that I have and I tried to give that info in each version thread I downloaded from enterprise to business versions and the result of trying each one.
