Ok....I have had a look on ebay..... There seem to be quite a few diferent ones, depending where they come from...china usa etc. I am in UK, only 2 available???? Do you know which one I would need to get???? If I were to get one how is it used???? Thanks again....
first verify your bios chip type if its 8 pin tiny its SPI. make backup.bin from broken chip then post and i chekc with hexeditor to see where it matches to the bios update. then i make fixed.bin and u program that to chip and solder chip back to motherboard.
Right then... So I have to unsolder the chip first...obviously.... then buy one of the programmers to reprogram it???? Could I not just buy a new chip???? I can get one here in UK for £11....The programmer will cost more than that and it would most likely have to come from China...."take weeks" I can get a new chip in 2 days!!!! As I have to unsolder the original, then I can just resolder the new already programmed chip??? What do you think??? Thanks.
If you do that I would solder in a socket then just plug the chip in. You may need to program it again.
What a great idea.....Well done for suggesting that, it would certainly make it a lot easier to just plug a chip in and out rather than keep soldering and un-soldering if there was any problem..... So, thanks for that
I just need to find out where I can get the correct socket from....can't see any on ebay, so need to find computer specialist company that may sell them??? Does anyone know of any????? Thanks all again
