Hello Truthinjection, I redid you latest update, reflashed nic, and the system is activated, everything is running fine. Thank you very much. I think this code works well, I attach screen dumps for proof [ SLIC: Software Licensing Description Table ] ACPI Table Properties: ACPI Signature SLIC Table Description Software Licensing Description Table Memory Address 3F73B800h Table Length 374 bytes OEM ID ACRSYS OEM Table ID ACRPRDCT OEM Revision 06040000h Creator ID ANNI Creator Revision 00000001h SLIC Version 2.1 I will do some restart and on off to fully verify I think you've cr**ked it this time!!! Cheers
Some ideas when i tried the nic slic insertion, when i tried to assembe the file with flat assembler it said slcembed.raw file not found, After trying a few times i realised in windows when i was renaming the slic file, it was somehow being renamed as slcembed.raw.bin, thus it was not being recognised, i then used dos to rename it, and this worked, On my first attempt i used a v2 slic file, i used slid dump to check, then i reloaded some slic v2.1 bin files and redid everything, booted to dos flashed nic, restarted pc, selected windslic from bios as first boot device, and restarted system, this time when the system starts it says 'Activating Winndslic Injector' and carries on booting to windows. RW everything now runs properly, and everest reports slic 2.1, I have reset the pc and put it into hibernation and switching power on/off and the pc is working fine as normal and the windows activation is permanent with status windows activated. I would like to congratulate Truthinjection for his hardwork and for developing this method further, thank you very much, really appreciated!!!
Please help to get a slic v.2.1 Dear Friends: truthinjection and Serxavi I need for my mobo Intel Bonetrail2 a moded bios to get slic v. 2.1, i have in my machine a network adapter Pro gt 1000. Dear friends please, i hope you give me this opportunity with a Dell moded bios. Thanks.
@ patghi Read the README.TXT file in the archive View attachment 3565 for quick how-to. Good luck serxavi
Use the same method as you did to flash it, except instead of: Code: ibautil.exe -restore use: Code: ibautil.exe -upgrade This will flash it to the 'latest' Intel PXE code (whatever version is included with the Intel ProBoot package you downloaded/used), which should be pretty much interchangeable. Good luck! -tij-
New WindSLIC ROM, v2009.10.20.01 Hi all, There was a problem with the prior code release where it would hang if you tried to boot XP instead of Windows 7 (dunno about Vista). I am uploading a new version: New Version (v2009.10.20.01): ------------------------------------ View attachment windslic-2009_10_20.zip ------------------------------------ It works the same as the prior versions except that now XP should boot. Remember, you'll have to provide the SLIC you want to use. The included one is a dummy file to allow compilation to succeed as released. Good luck! -tij-
It works Dear Friends: Thank you truthinjection & Serxavi. This method works fine for my bonetrail2. You need to explain a little bit more about applying the FASM compiler, and what to do with new bios tables, too. Yahooo.
@ truthinjection Thanks for the new version (v2009.10.20.01). I'll try it next weekend. I have only Windows 7 installed. Thus, I can't test if XP or Vista work. @ patghi All thanks for truthinjection. He is making all work.
Works well with XP on my P4P800E MB. ( i865PE chipset if it matters) Of course Win7 works when I boot that. ( Using ASUS SLIC 2.1) Vista works using ASUS slic 2.1 and ASUS cert 2.0 Cheers Many thanks for all the hard work truthinjection. SB7
Correction : Vista is activated but using ASUS 2.1 cert. Not 2.0 as previously stated. my bad. Cheers
Dear Friends Dear truthinjection: with my bonetrail2 i have no valid oem slp string but SLIC v.2.1. Those results were found using SLIC_Dump_ToolKit.EXE and no change with your last post. thanks truthinjection.
Yup This time I purchased Intel PRO/100 S Desktop Adapter, VendorID 8086, DeviceID 1229. Flashed new WindSLIC ROM (Attachment 3717). Asus K8N, clean Win7 32bit & 64bit and bingo, ACTIVATED! I'm looking for another card, this time with some big intel chip on it...3 by 3 centimeters...some old stuff... Great job
New windslic works with win xp and win 7 dual booting, via intel 1000/MT nic on intel D845GRG desktop motherboard. All thanks to Truth!!!
The new version (v2009.10.20.01) working. Windows 7, Intel D865PERL and DX58SO with INTEL EtherExpress PRO/100+ Management Adapter PCI. Thanks to truthinjection!!!
Hi First of all i am faily new on these forums so i appoligise if i have not reported back correctly with my feed back. I bought 3 Intel NICS from ebay for under 10GBP to try the NIC SLIC procedures. The NICS i bought were 2 No Intel PRO/100 M PCI, VendorID 8086, DeviceID 1229 and 1 No Intel PRO/100 S Desktop Adapter, VendorID 8086, DeviceID 1229. I tried the method for inserting slic as page 1 by SirSilentBob using truthinjection windslic-2009_10_20.zip My test PC's were an old P3 ASUS MB CUV4X and a new Gigabyte GA-M61PME-S2 (rev. 2.x). On my 1st attempt on the old ASUS MB for some unknown reason i ended up bricking one of the Intel PRO/100 M NICS. (Any advice on unbricking the NIC would be gratefuly appreciated) This bricked NIC causes both PC's to hang on boot with a black screen. ASUS MB CUV4X Feedback With the other 2 NICS i could carry out the SLIC insert but i assume that this MB is out dated as i could not see the SLIC insert using SLIC_Dump_ToolKit_V2.1F within XP or vista. I can see the NIC windslic within the bios and at boot i can see the message about the slic injection. But within SLIC_Dump_ToolKit_V2.1F, XP and vista there is no SLIC. Gigabyte GA-M61PME-S2 (rev. 2.x) feedback I reverted back to the factory rom on both the NICS. I then carried out the same procedures as mentioned above and can say all worked great 1st time. I can easly mod the NICS and within SLIC_Dump_ToolKit_V2.1F XP and Vista the 2.1 SLIC is seen with OS activated One slight niggle is that the Intel PRO/100 S Desktop Adapter only likes being seated within the PCI slot 2 otherwise it occasionaly hangs. Great work guys and thanks for letting others like myself learn more. Regards bp1
