I have an Acer Extensa 4620Z. I'd like to use some DOS tool to flash the stock BIOS from Acer. I found this thread:

which luckily deals with the exact image I am trying to flash.

I was able to extract the WPH from the EXE provided by Acer, and open it in PBE without errors as described in the thread above. I have two different versions of phlash16 - 1.4.59 and Neither of them is willing to flash this BIOS. After reading the WPH file I extracted, 1.4.59 says "platform signature not found in the interface" and immediately says something like "error opening bios.wph". I am not running phlash16 with any arguments other than the name of the bios image I am trying to flash.

Is it not possible to use the DOS tools to flash an Acer BIOS?

    Thanks for any help.

The "platform information" is missing in your bios, anyway, dont waste your time with this method, there is a magic tool to do the job in 2 clicks.

Download the latest Tool-to-Insert-Replace-SLIC-in-Phoenix-Insyde-Dell-EFI-BIOSes and SLIC 2.1 Bin Collection

    open BWA-133.EXE with PhoenixTool.exe
SLIC File , choose, Acer[ACRSYS-ACRPRDCT-ANNI]2.1.BIN (from SLIC 2.1 Bin Collection)
    press GO
    wait the end of process.

Flash from windows with resulting BWA-133_SLIC.EXE
