As small size solar power panels are now available at low prices, I want to learn how to run computers directly on solar power. The current runs through a transformer anyway and is reduced from 220/110 Volt down... to exactly what? I assume that it will be the same low current at every laptop, if not where can find it, on the battery inside the laptop? ALso in case the electricity supply collapses how will I find the correct current of a desktop computer/display and what should be the minimum power? Thank you...
Most official (actually all) adapters will show the voltage and current it provides for the laptop. It's not the same for all laptops, so check before you connect.
