what is the KB of that update please? 2751352 ?
if so, RP theme works for me even after update with uxtheme unpatched:
the difference probably is, while you replaced the default theme, I rather added it as 2nd :)

    Yes that is the KB

I don't know... I logged into windows after restarting from the update, I was back on normal metro theme. Tried to switch back to it and it would sit at a please wait screen forever until it just ended up doing nothing.

I had it as a secondary, never replaced the default one

For some reason getting this fixed it... but I'm not complaining! :worthy:

I've tested used both this and wootpatcher, both work great in Win8 RTM x64

Is it possible to make the "progress bar" in w8 from ugly green to a nice blue like in windows 7?

Thanks, but are there any themes which can utilize this .dll out as of now?

What are the names of modified files with this method? uxtheme.dll themeui.dll and the other one?

    uxinit.dll
uxtheme.dll is different in native x32 and x32 WOW in OS64 (so together with x64 there are three versions of it)

Anyone else having problems on Windows 8 Pro x64 after the KB2770917 november update? I removed UXStyle before the update and installed it + themes again after and now it only works after a cold start (power on). After a regular reboot/reset my pc hangs with a black screen, weird.

I noticed the KB2770917 update changes the uxinit.dll/uxtheme.dll, the file sizes are the same, the revisions are higher though.

It looks like UxStyle_Core is only acceptable solution since MS already updated DLLs twice (from b16384 to b16420 and then to b16433)...
