Hi all.... A while back i got some great help and i learnt how to mod my BIOS,build a Vista OEM dvd and install it onto my Abit board and get a full working Vista ultimate 32 bit. My PC i would say is medioca. ( that spelling dont look right ) ( never mind ). Running a Pentium D 3.4 ghz with 2 gig of DDR2 800mhz pc 640 RAM. 512 graphics, This i find is not enough for Vista and it seems slow. i can not afford a new chip just yet so i decided to sling in some more RAM. My mobo will take upto 8 gig so i priced it up and i was gunna max it out. On my torrent forum i was told this would be a waste of time.In fact a few folk told me this and suddenly £120 on RAM seemed pointless. So i decided just to sling two more 1 gig sticks in of the same kind and go to 4 gig of RAM. i went down to my local PC shop and he told me Vista 32 bit only recognises 3 gig of RAM any way,if i wanted more RAM i would have to install Vista 64 bit. I have a version of this.Would'nt take much to intergrate SP1 into it,etc. My question is.... With my mobo allready modded with SLIC table and i have the OEM files will this all stil work if i loaded it onto Windows Vista 64 bit or is there a differance some how.. advice please.... cheers.. oh yes...Happy birthday to me...LOL...
Slic works with both 32 bit and 64 bit. Just use the OEM files with your 64bit vista and you are good to go.
That is great news... In with my Vista 64 bit then...well after some tweeking... where did i put that Vlite... Another 2 gig of RAM here i come.....
Well just to inform folks.. I slung in two more sticks of 1 gig to make 4big of RAM and my 32 bit Vista recognises it,lovely.. No need to mess about slinging Vista 64 bit in... Will mess about making my own Vista 64 OEM dvd though..Just for the laugh..
